Job Design Job design is work arrangement with an aim of reducing or overcoming job dissatisfaction and employees feeling bored due to doing repetitive jobs making them machine-like. Job design tries to raise employees’ productivity levels such as greater satisfaction from a sense of personal achievement in meeting the deadlines and overcoming work challenges. Job enlargement, job enrichment, job rotation, and job simplification are the various techniques used in a job design exercise. Since job design involves rearrangement this will affect the organization structure such that the organization may change from one structure to another depending with which one fits it the best. Automation of the organization will help in making the work easier hence reduce the tensions that come with the job designing and organization restructuring. Since the main purpose of automating is to make work easier, automation will motivate the employees and help them overcome the job dissatisfaction. Computerization will affect job design and eventually the organization structure in such a manner that it will make work easier and fast leading to less employees being needed to perform a task.
