My results from the EYMCT, in the areas around the Australian Curriculum strand of Statistics and Probability, demonstrated that I correctly interpreted the terminology of categorical variables question. I was able to determine which answer could be categorised and although the odd answer “Average children ages in the classroom” is still related to statistics it is not a categorical variable. The same is true with understanding the terminology of mathematical statements in probability. Knowing the language surrounding statistic and probability and understand the content is a crucial knowledge that enables me to correctly answer the question and will facilitate me as an educator to pedagogically impart to the students the vocabulary, techniques

I believe that in the verge of realization, in everyday life’s undertaking we are facing and practicing statistics. I was being into a serious dedication of understanding the underlined concepts of statistics and the necessary usefulness in conducting a survey. In fact, throughout the course, I did learn many factors that became useful in contacting a survey research. according to Walker et al. (2011). However, my success could not be possible without the appreciation and support of my teachers, discussion groups, and class presentations.in addition, the misguided notion of statistics being a tough course was proven otherwise since I realized that statistics make a lot of sense not only in survey research in personal life, especially in budgeting and planning for individual routines. Furthermore, the following paper provides a vivid explanation of my reflection of the survey class, with more attention paid to the concepts of statistics.

When Sid askes Gabriela she said she has a growth chart at her Doctors office and she can see how much she grows every time she goes. Statistics is a mathematical science pertaining to the collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data. It is applicable to a wide variety of academic disciplines, from the physical and social sciences to the humanities. Statistics are also used for making informed decisions – and misused for other reasons – in all areas of business and government. Statistical methods can be used to summarize or describe a collection of data; this is called descriptive statistics. In addition, patterns in the data may be modeled in a way that accounts for randomness and uncertainty in the observations, and then used to draw inferences about the process or population being studied; this is called inferential statistics. Markwell (2012) highlights the third teaching strategy would be to introduce a three-column graph with calculations in the middle which enables students to understand functional relationships (words, symbols and variables), this methods leads to understanding geometric ways of seeing and numerical ways of counting. Effectively three-column tables will enable students to connect the independent and dependent variable in an explicit functional relationship.
