Designing and planning for a health care facility can be relatively simple and complex. Facilities should be centered around patients and ideally built around the comfort and services it can provide to the patient. The design of the facility requires a lot of meticulous tasks that go along with planning and development down to the smallest tasks of obtaining the required equipment to the examination of Budget planning and cost estimates (Synthesis Partnership, 2011). Involvement of the Project team should include stakeholders that have major roles, such as those will include health care professionals. Project meetings insure that goals and guidance are on track. The use of a GANTT chart could prove beneficial at this point in the development process. The lack of stakeholder input can create costly changes in design errors and sometimes even costly renovations after the facility has opened. Whether there is active stakeholder involvement or not, there are also some barriers that could contribute to a failure in the concept of the facility. Lack of available time could contribute to the failure of the development of a facility. Not adhering to timelines also contributes to a delayed production and costlier financial pressures. Stakeholder commitment and effective involvement from all parties increases the likelihood of a successful project and an effective facility design that is also safe for the patients (Informa, 2013). Healthcare facilities are very complex and can also be very simple in terms of their complexes. In addition to this, healthcare facilities are based around the empathies of the patient and should be convey certain messages to the patient. These messages are clearly emphasized in the approach of the facility, the exterior should provide for the patient’s needs and these needs can range from parking lots, patient drop offs, convenience and location of the emergency rooms, easy way-finding, well
