In my own view based on the article the killing of a state cop was a murder committed by Felipe and his brother Antonio. The slain cop Luis Baca a member of state police had a bad reputation on and he was highly known by the Indians who were marginalized for his brutality. This created a bad blood between him and the Indians since RESPONSE ON THE KILLING OF A STATE COP
Dispatchers are civilians who are responsible for assigning patrol cars to 911 incidents in the precincts they handle. They also monitor the status of incidents and patrol cars and input all relevant information to the central computer system. Dispatchers are typically responsible for 2 or 3 contiguous precincts. When a dispatcher receives a new incident, the information is automatically added to a computer screen for that precinct, and the job is added to the dispatch queue in priority order. When a patrol car from the precinct is available, the dispatcher will assign it to the next job in the dispatch queue. If the incident is a dangerous one, more than one car may be dispatched. All communications are via radio When a car is dispatched to a job, it first travels to the scene of the incident. If the incident is still active, the officers perform whatever tasks are called for and, when done, write up required reports and radio to the dispatcher a final status code. The amount of service time per car per incident (including travel time) varies greatly from incident to incident, but overall it averages about 30 minutes. Allocation of the 1300 car-tours among the precincts is a complex and sensitive issue. Precincts vary greatly in population, physical area, frequency of 911 calls, incidence, and type of crime and special needs. Moreover, the rate and type of
Besides ticketing for speeding or expired licences, the Traffic Unit has to explain the law to people and deal with the public just like the Patrol Unit. Driving under the influence is a major problem in Lethbridge and dealing with it is not so easy. The mass of paperwork that is needed just to seize a vehicle, get it towed, charge the person, get a breath sample, and authorizations is tedious enough. The officers, in addition, have to have the discretion to choose their battles involving the law. The discretion to challenge if someone has their vehicle insured and if they should try to charge someone for being under the influence of a drug well driving as a few examples. The officers also need to arrest and control people who are under the influence, which is not easy. One example of this is the one younger man that was upset and suicidal after an arrest. Dealing with all this constantly, there is a very real lack of empathy and motivation to pursue difficult charges; therefore, concentrating on the faster and easier
I agree that as a warrant officer in the air traffic control community we have to remember
Starting out as the coal and iron police later turning into the great peace keeping force that exists today. A trooper is an employee of a police force that is warranted by law to enforce written laws.
One hundred and seventeen police officers died in 2014, and one was a police officer from Placer County Sheriff. His name was Mike Davis and gunned down on October 24th, 2014 with another officer from Sacramento County. Since 1791, 20538 police officers have died in the line of duty. Also, videos have ruined their reputation, like a San Francisco homeless man who resisted arrest, but the bystanders did not see him kick the officer. Finally, the reason why there is police is to stop people from killing other people.. To conclude, police officers deserve credit and honor than they have been receiving right now because they risk their lives to make our world safer.
Within the California Highway Patrol there are many different factors that affect a person's work performance. Motivation or lack of motivation is one way that employee's work performance can be affected. Emotions and moods of the employee can also have a short-term affect on their work performance. It is incumbent for supervisors and managers within the CHP to recognize when they have an employee whose work performance is affected by one of these issues and address them appropriately. The purpose of this discussion board is to provide a response to discussion board Forum 2.

Police officers have played a major role in society by protecting us from crime. Their responsibilities include not only preserving the peace, preventing criminal acts, enforcing the law, investigating crimes, and arresting those who violate the law but also directing traffic, community relations work, and controlling crowds at public events.
When it comes to police officer disciplinary actions, the lines becomes thin and more difficult to read between. It is not such a black and white situation and when it comes to properly disciplining a police officer it can become difficult to do so especially when that officer has either been on the force a long time so there is an established relationship, or the inappropriate act they committed happened just once and they claim it will never happen again. These types of things make it much harder to decide what the right discipline may be for that officer.
Police officers are responsible for protecting people and property. Related job titles include Sheriffs and sheriffs deputy, detectives, and state police officers. However all of these job titles have similar duties for example they are all responsible for the protection of people and property. These job titles might be very similar but they do differ in many ways. Police officers patrol the city issuing citations keeping the peace and conduct traffic stops. Sheriff 's and deputies hold practically the same duties as police officers but do so for the entire county. A state police officer could also be addressed as a state trooper. These officers usually patrol highways and issue citations and are frequently called for comprehensive law enforcement services. Detective is the title that differs from the others the most. Detectives aren 't in uniform. They investigate crime scenes and find evidence for criminal cases. Detectives conduct interviews, observe activities of suspects, and also participate in raids. Although a normal police officer does not earn as much income as related titles it is still a very demanding and dangerous job.
