Three ways that people develop back problems are by having poor lifting techniques, sitting for too long, and by wearing improper shoes. By bending at your wait to lift objects or by holding an object higher than your armpits or lower than your knees that is causing your back to have more stress than necessary. Also by sitting too long, whether it’s at a desk or driving a motor vehicle, it prevents fluid to circulate through the discs in your spine which is then depriving the discs of nutrition. By not moving around and staying active it leads to stress in your back. Then another reason that people develop back problems is because of the shoes that they wear. Then by having a sleeping position that helps support your back will benefit your back in the long run. For example, if you sleep on your back you should put one pillow under your knees and another under your lower back to give your back the support it needs. One of the worst sleeping positions for your back is sleeping on your stomach, it strains your back, unless you place a pillow under your hips. Three methods that chiropractors use when they are treating back pain are the lumbar roll, motion palpation, and table adjustments. A lumbar roll is where the patients lie on their sides while the doctor stands on the front plane of the body. The chiropractor applies a rapid, precise thrust to the problematic area, retiring the vertebrate to proper alignment. Then a motion palpation is when the chiropractor placing their hands at specific places along the spine and then guiding the patient through a series of movements. The chiropractor will feel the entire spinal column-from lumbar to thoracic-to identify any areas that feel out of alignment. Then finally a table adjustment involves a table with a drop
