Three ways that people develop back problems are by having poor lifting techniques, sitting for too long, and by wearing improper shoes. By bending at your wait to lift objects or by holding an object higher than your armpits or lower than your knees that is causing your back to have more stress than necessary. Also by sitting too long, whether it’s at a desk or driving a motor vehicle, it prevents fluid to circulate through the discs in your spine which is then depriving the discs of nutrition. By not moving around and staying active it leads to stress in your back. Then another reason that people develop back problems is because of the shoes that they wear. The stilettos, flats, and flip flops that people wear have little, if any, arch support. …show more content…
Then by having a sleeping position that helps support your back will benefit your back in the long run. For example, if you sleep on your back you should put one pillow under your knees and another under your lower back to give your back the support it needs. One of the worst sleeping positions for your back is sleeping on your stomach, it strains your back, unless you place a pillow under your hips. Three methods that chiropractors use when they are treating back pain are the lumbar roll, motion palpation, and table adjustments. A lumbar roll is where the patients lie on their sides while the doctor stands on the front plane of the body. The chiropractor applies a rapid, precise thrust to the problematic area, retiring the vertebrate to proper alignment. Then a motion palpation is when the chiropractor placing their hands at specific places along the spine and then guiding the patient through a series of movements. The chiropractor will feel the entire spinal column-from lumbar to thoracic-to identify any areas that feel out of alignment. Then finally a table adjustment involves a table with a drop
Heavy lifting causes a strain on the back and can lead to back problems. Other back problems such as scoliosis, herniated disks, and pinched nerves are all results of bipedalism. (Ackerman).
Chiropractors trust the tools they have made by thrusting high-velocity pressure into the spine area to create overall improved functionality and reduced discomfort (Yeomans, Steven G. 1999). A common tool used by most chiropractors for spinal pain, neck pain, and headaches, is called the Activator Adjusting Instrument. This device allows patients to receive a mild impulse of impact in various spots of the spine (that were previously diagnosed) to ensure proper movement of the spinal cord and/or joints. This tool is making chiropractors lives easier because
The greatest benefit of a chiropractic adjustment session is the alleviation of pain at its precise origin in your body. Chiropractors have taken physical therapy to the next level with the use of state of the art technology and innovative approaches to traditional techniques. Where professional massage techniques are used to break up nerve constriction and muscle irritation, Chiropractic Adjustment therapy realigns spinal irregularities to stop nerve pain and damage. Chiropractic Adjustment Instruments will realign joints throughout your spine that have dislodged due to various reasons. Reasons include:
Low back pain (LBP) affect many people. Most cases subdue in a week or two, but in some others, they have to take anti-inflammatory drugs or muscle relaxants to mask the pain. In rare cases, There is surgery in the lumbar region of the back. The surgery is usually expensive, so people go to chiropractors which are a safer and less expensive way of treatment in LBP. “Chiropractic adjustments and management

Chiropractic practice is a health profession that focuses on diagnosing and treating the musculoskeletal system through manipulation of the spine or hands on adjustment. Some chiropractors provide spinal adjustment or address sacral or pelvic alignment. Sacral relates to the sacrum, which is the curvature region of the spinal cord. This allows for more room in the pelvic cavity for organs therefore, can lead to pelvic alignment. Chiropractic was invented by D.D. Palmer in 1895 when he adjusted the spine of a deaf man and restored his hearing. Based off of this adjustment, Palmer came to the realization that his patients’ injury was due to subluxation. Subluxation is a misalignment of the vertebrae; in chiropractic, it is the cause of many

After spending enough time sitting and standing with bad posture, chronic back pain can be experienced. Many who maintain poor posture experience back pain day after day with no clue to why they're having issues. This issue can be traced back to posture problems for the pressure that has been put on the spine. Overall, poor posture may be doing more than just impacting the way we look. Taking time to get up and move during the day, sitting straight with shoulders back and spine straight, plus visiting a chiropractor will help posture. Taking the time to do so can not only help have better posture, it can also prevent dealing with a number of serious health issues later on in life.
The skeletal muscles supplies us movement, which is supported by the posture. Our muscles will shorten, tighten, contract, and promote mobility. The muscles join with bones that attach to the tendons. Once the muscles begin contracting, the muscles are stimulated and join the fibers through our motor neuron cells. The nerves makeup axon, body of cells, dendrites, etc, and these elements transmit impulses to the nerves, sending the impulses to the major components of our system, such as Central Nerve System. The network joins with cells, fibers, muscles, etc, and conveys messages, transmitting them through sensations that stop at the brain. The brain transmits signals that are sent from motor impulses and carries onto
This experiment over the rehabilitation of lower back pain was conducted to find which treatments worked most effectively patients and the cost that came along with each treatment. They started this experiment by selecting a test group of adults from the age of 20 to 64 who were experiencing a mild form of back pain, and then began placing them in different areas of treatment. The patients were either sent to do Physical Therapy, Chiropractor, or they were given an instruction booklet on how to treat lower back pain. In Physical Therapy, The patients were treated using McKenzie method which is focused on a “centralized” treatment to reduce overall back pain. The second group of patients had to undergo Chiropractic Manipulation which is a high velocity thrust which is targeted at what is known as a “manipulable lesion”.
