Introduction Diabetes is one of the severe diseases or problems for human body. It is a complex, chronic illness that requires continuous medical care with risk-reduction strategies beyond a person’s blood glucose control. This disease usually increases high blood glucose or blood sugar level of a person or affected person over a prolonged period. It has been demonstrated that when insulin production in the human body is in poor quantity, or the cells of the body do not respond properly to insulin, or both; it can be the cause of a metabolic diseases or diabetes. There are mainly three types of diabetes, such as Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational diabetes. In this, type 1 diabetes in the body occurs due to pancreas failure that does not produce…show more content…
Insulin is a type of hormone that allows body to turn glucose into energy and start functioning. Although, diabetes can be effectively managed through various curable actions and adaptation. There are still some potential complications that can possibly effect the body, such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney damage. Diabetes can also affect several healthy organs or areas in the body, such as the eyes, arteries, and, nervous system, as well as blood vessels. The circulatory system of heart can be affected by diabetes as the coronary heart disease that contributes to high blood pressure. Which is linked with high cholesterol that significantly increases the risk of heart attacks and cardiovascular disease. The other healthy organ system of the body is the urinary system of kidneys that is at a risk of damage because of diabetes. The risk occurs because of poorly controlled, high blood pressure and cholesterol. Which makes kidney disease a result of diabetes which is known as diabetic…show more content…
When the normal sugar homeostasis is disrupted by the pancreas because of it not making enough insulin, the glucose homeostasis is disrupted as the glucose levels rise. Therefore, diabetes can also disrupt the homeostasis of other parts of the bodies metabolism. It is a true fact that diabetes does not take excess sugar within cells and does not affect oxygen levels as well. So, the main problem with diabetes is that glucose can’t enter the cells that is allowed by the insulin to be burned. Which makes the cells simply starve itself in glucose. In the disruption of homeostasis process the cells that are basically starving for glucose now start to burn fat and is responsible for products breakdown production from fat called ketones. Apart from this, protein is also burned for fuel effectively. This process gives result in wasting of fat and muscle. The other system that also disrupts homeostasis by diabetes is the body water regulation system because when the sugar levels increase in the blood, water is pulled out from the cells and shrinking
