Diabetes come in different aspect, symptoms, and treatment options. But before discussing the different aspects allow me to give you the meaning of diabetes. Diabetes is a chronic disease where the blood in the body contains high sugar level. This disease is caused by the body’s inability to use insulin properly, or the inability to make insulin altogether. There can be times when it can be cause by both factors. A person should maintain a healthy diet, exercise, and check their blood sugar level regularly. I myself am just now trying to get my diabetes under control which seem very hard at first but know it’s like a walk in the park. I recently went to my primary doctor to find out has my A1C level came down. For people without diabetes, the normal range for the hemoglobin A1C test is between 4% and 5.6%. Hemoglobin A1C levels between 5.7% and 6.4% indicate increased risk of diabetes, and levels of 6.5% or higher indicate diabetes. My A1C is usually at 12% but when I went to the doctor last week it went down in three months to 9%. Am so proud of myself for saying no to the wrong foods, saying yes to taking my medication and having a routine of exercise. There are three known aspects of diabetes. Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. Type 1 diabetes that some people call “juvenile diabetes” occurs in children and young adults.
