Diabetes Symptoms, Causes and Treatments Diabetes is a disease in which people suffer from high blood sugar levels and because of this it begins to cause damage to parts of the body. Though diabetes affects a person’s sugar levels which will then affect how they function throughout the day, it is the affects that diabetes has on main parts of the body that make function difficult. Little 2 Though not talked about as much as it should be, “statistics about diabetes” lists the amount of deaths caused by diabetes; Diabetes remains the 7th leading cause of death in the United States in 2010, with -----------------69,071 death certificates listing it as the underlying cause of death, and a total of -------------------234,051 death certificates listing diabetes as an underlying or contributing cause of -----------------death. Statistics list that a little over two hundred thousand United States citizens that range under the age of twenty have been diagnosed with diabetes. Varying between age groups it is believed that around eighteen thousand citizens have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and a little over five thousand have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It is suggested that because of our eating habits in the United States Most of the American population will not decide to get tested for diabetes until they begin to show symptoms that have escalated to a point where they cannot function properly. Which in most cases could cause death if someone doesn’t seek medical attention quick enough. The symptoms that were once small problems
