Ramona you’re one of my senior nurses and you’re a respected preceptor for new staff. I do see you as a valued member of the team and I can understand after 17 years of nursing, the burn out that you’re feeling. This in turn is affecting your work and also causing you to miss work and be late. It’s important to address your burn out emotions, so you can continue being a valued preceptor to the newer staff. I am giving you a copy of this article Overcoming Burnout: How to Revitalize Your Career, which I would like you to read and I believe will help you deal with burn out. Some highlights from this article I would like to discuss with you now is that, according to Espeland (2006) “if not identified and addressed, burnout can spread like a cancer
1. Pheoby's moral code is differs from the towns, because Pheoby is best friends with Janie, Pheoby doesn't see Janie as Mrs. Joe Starks like the rest of the town. As Janie is walking through town, the ladies on Pheoby's porch make snide comments about Janie's, “blue overhalls” (2), and questions, “ Where she [leave] dat young lad of a boy she went off her with” (2). While Pheoby decides to ignore their comments, and check on Janie. I believe Pheoby's code is 'truly moral' because, she doesn't judge Janie and her choices like the rest of the town.
1. I would put myself in the place of the man on the horse he looks like he could be the leader, so the leader.
Hunt grinned at her, his broad face a curious blend of drollery and love. “Aye, I’m serious. I don’t think I’ll be able to practice properly at lances without another go, so deep is my need.”
The first quote I have is from pg 61 where the narrator talks about the people in the desert. “Only the vision of leaving the desert kept them moving through the heat and dust”. What I believe this means is this means is they are able to keep on moving by thinking of a better life. It means they are able to keep trying and not give up. I believe this is a good example of perseverance.
I believe that at the end of chapter 1 in the book we are meant to feel that Cole is a very mean person. Also that he thinks he is better than everyone and he is superior, the evidence to show this is on page 4 when it states “Still standing on the dock in front of everyone, Cole smirked as he undressed.” This piece of evidence shows that cole thinks he is better than the people because he is smirking as he undresses in front of them. Another piece of evidence to show that cole thinks he is better than everyone is on page 5 and it says “Nothing could be farther from the truth. To cole this was another big game.” This clearly is showing that cole thinks he is better than everyone he takes everything as a game he doesn’t really realize what is
1) “They carried the soldier’s greatest fear, which was the fear of blushing. Men killed, and died, because they were embarrassed not to. It was what had brought them to the war in the first place, nothing positive, no dreams of glory or honor, just to avoid the blush of dishonor. They died so as not to die of embarrassment” (O’Brien 20).
1. A large amount of construction and building work was going on in the city. Unfortunately for the people, construction meant delays, but all for a good end result. “Construction delays elsewhere on the grounds were especially frustrating” (pg 167) Chicago is booming with new buildings and constructions sights everywhere. This quote shows the work of construction that is all over the city.
Day by day Toby and Elizabeth went through doing their assigned jobs, eating meals, and going to bed according to schedule every single day for the past year. At first, it wasn’t that hard for them to do because, everyone else was just doing their jobs and continuing the schedule so, all they had to do was keep quiet and obey what they were told. Unfortunately after a while, it became very difficult for them to act like robots never having emotions being expressed it was almost like they were stuck inside their minds day after day keeping everything to themselves as if they weren't humans at all.
John boarded the dark blue freighter with Conner his best friend. John sat down in his and Connor's bunk bed in the freighters quarters. Conner said “ you should always check your back and don’t trust everything you hear”. Conner had short brown hair and his skin was dark while John was medium height with golden long hair but everyone on the boat wore the same army gear, green bulletproof vests and helmet. The only thing that they shared in common other than their uniforms was both of their voices were deep and masculine. As the hours passed John started to recount the years of that horrible war. It started in the year of 1939 when the nazi’s
Thank you the M-1 Marvels for allowing me to be apart of the huddle this week!
The beast limped towards me, its eyes glowing red like the color of my blood, adrenaline pumps quickly throughout my body, it charges, hooves clacking along the cold dirt floor, its shaggy fur dripping with warm crimson blood. My breath is fast as I leap towards it, dagger raised. It punctures the soft skin, tearing the flesh of its bony chest. I follow the pattern; leap, stab, tear, duck, roll, aim for thigh and roll again. It howls in rage and leaps at me, its claws outstretched, I hold out my blade as it crashes into it, the knife reaching its' now motionless heart. Another comes at me, wanting to seek revenge for its fallen brother. It roars, spikes flaring in and out of
December 14, 1924 was a bright, beautiful winter morning, the sky a vibrant blue without a cloud roaming around. The previous night, a heavy snowfall had powdered and blanketed the ground. Children all around town were enjoying playing, skipping, and laughing in the city of Paris, France.
Paul lies because he does not want to make his mother and anyone close to him worry about him and know what horrors happened in the trenches and the front lines, and to do this Paul lied to shield them from the truth. Paul remarks, "Mother, what should I answer to that? " You would not understand, you could never realize it. And you never shall realize it" (Remarque Pg. 76). The 'Standard' is a 'Standard'.
Paragraph 1 tone : He seems nervous about this trip He says ,“We’ve all been up since midnight, starting our predive checks after a couple of restless hours of sleep, and the whole team is running on adrenaline. These are the roughest conditions I’ve dived in so far on the expedition” The way he says that they’ve been up the whole night doing checks without sleep and how this is one of the roughest conditions he has dived in so far just gives the sense of nervousness if he will make the challenge.
A long, white corridor is lined with students either side of it. The floor is a light blue vinyl which is heavily scored into and marked black in places. Towards the end of the corridor is a dark blue, three tear bag rack lined with bag packs. The students themselves are all wearing a dark navy uniform which consists of a jumper, slacks and a light blue shirt.
