Using diapers is the most convenient, clean, and easy to control your baby’s waste products. However, diaper rash is the most common skin disorder when it comes to wearing diapers regularly.

Diaper rash is an inflammation or irritation of your baby’s skin caused by prolonged contact of wet or frequently changed diaper that looks like as a patchwork of bright red skin on your baby’s bottom.

What are the symptoms of diaper rash?
The following are the signs and symptoms to identify diaper rash:
Chafing
Dryness or peeling of the skin
Edema or swelling of the skin
Papules and pustules
Pinkness or redness of the skin

At the first sign of diaper rash, try these following tips at home:
Avoid using baby wipes that might further irritate your baby's skin especially if your baby has diaper rash.
Change your baby’s diaper every 3 hours.
Keep your baby’s skin dry and avoid the skin to make contact with urine and stool.
Use a subabsorbent disposable diaper.
Use mild soap when washing your baby's rash.
Wash the diaper area gently with warm water and soft cloth. After that, rinse it well and make it dry using a soft and smooth cloth.
Try to mke your baby’s nappy area dry and clean all the time. Applying castor oil or creams on your baby’s bottom can help to avoid diaper rash.
