Have you ever been changed or moved by some sort of event? Sometimes it moves you emotionally or it causes you to think about it all of the time. In “The Diary Of Anne Frank”, (the drama) characters are easily affected when their life is slowly turning upside down. You will learn about how historical events in “The Diary Of Anne Frank” have affected the play. Such as the relationships between characters and the mood affect on the act.
First off, the historical events in the play have affected the mood in the act. “Right here in Amsterdam every day hundreds of Jews disappear.” (Page 130, Hackett). This affected the mood in the act because the suspense was very high and you could tell that all of the characters were shocked by the news. “(Mrs Frank) Oh, no. No!” (Page 130, Hackett). This states that the event was a huge mood change from what they have felt before. They are now more aware and terrified than steady and comfortable. Though this event has …show more content…

“(Miep) The invasion has begun!” (Page 179, Hackett). Since everyone heard the news about how they may be rescued, they finally have something to be happy about. Though the times in the Annex have been rough, they are getting to a point where they all have something in common, they all are happy and thankful for this event. “(Anne) Oh, mother, I was. I was awful.” (Page 181, Hackett). “(Mrs. Frank) We’ve all done things we’re ashamed of.” (Page 181, Hackett). “(Mr. Dussel) Stop it now! Let’s be happy!” (Page 181, Hackett). This supports why historical events have changed the relationships between characters because, after Miep brings the news, everyone is forgiving each other. They all changed their relationships with one another by being thankful instead of frustrated.
