Difference Between French Revolution And American Revolution

The Latin American Revolutions and the American Revolution both had similarities and differences. These revolutions were similar in a way, because they both were fighting against their suppressing powers and one difference was the way that unity shaped the way they gained independence.

The French and American Revolution had similar goals, and were caused by the lack of the same things. First came the American Revolution: the movement that formed the United States. Later, the French Revolution came inspired by the Americans. Both of these revolutions were lead by leaders including: George Washington was the commander and chief of the American Revolution. The American and French revolutions continue to be two momentous events that have a multitude of similarities, along with differences. Both the Americans and the French decided to rebel because of the maltreatment which obligated them to follow unfair rules, along with having to pay a vast amount of taxes. Each revolution also came as a result of the people trying to claim their independence, along with their freedom from the government that controlled them. Once the revolutionists won, the Americans, along with the French created their own political documents. While these revolutions contain more similarities, a difference that appears would be that the Americans received outside assistance from French troops, and the French received nothing.

The French and American Revolution were too different revolutions in that how the Revolutions themselves unfolded and who fought who. Yes, while one was in France and the other was in Northern America and of course different people fought different people, but the similarities between the two revolutions are pretty astonishing. To start, the revolutions began for almost the exact same reasons and those reasons being to remove an unjust government that is demanding high taxes with little to nothing in return. The now American citizens were tired of the British government imposing high taxes as a result of the French and Indian war. The citizens who are now identifying themselves differently than being British decide that enough is enough and fight back at the battle of Lexington.

Some were Britain's treasury was drained so they taxed America and angered the colonists, similar to the French treasury being low, so they declared war on other countries to try to refill the treasury. Some differences between the two revolutions were that France wanted a new government and more money and food supply, and America just wanted their independence from Britain. Although this was not quite enough, it took until the French intervened, as allies to the Americans, the British finally surrendered granting independence to these colonies.

The French and American revolutions were both countries fighting for independence, almost one after another, the American first, and then the French. Both were very similar, while also, very different. Both were inspired by Enlightenment thinkers, and both involved citizens against the king.
