We have heard the term mixture in our Chemistry books or in the kitchen, But what the mixture exactly is? A mixture is an outcome of combining two or more substances without any fixed ratio and such approach that there is no chemical reaction occurs between them.
The mixture is classified into two categories, Homogeneous mixture, and heterogeneous mixture. On mixing up the component substances retain their own identities and properties. Mixtures do not have a fixed composition.
In this article of Tape daily, we will try to subdue the confusion about what is the difference between homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture.
Homogeneous Mixture
A mixture that has a uniform composition throughout is called the homogeneous mixture. In a homogeneous mixture, the components are consistently

Similarly, how can we identify that the mixture is heterogeneous?
A heterogeneous mixture consists of substances that can be easily separated. In heterogeneous mixture, the substances are not dissolved thoroughly and each component has its own property, therefore, components can be separated out easily.
What if we dissolve some sand in the water? After a while, all the sand particles would be settled down at the bottom of the water and we can recognize them separately. So we would call this mixture a heterogeneous mixture.
Pizza, one the most lovable food in the world is also a perfect example of heterogeneous mixture. Just by casting a glance at pizza we can easily recognize its ingredients like cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and chicken etc.
Some of the examples of heterogeneous mixture are
Fruit loop cereal
Nuts in a bowl
Rock in the sand at beach
Smog
Salad
Soil
Wood
Oil in water
Main Difference between Homogeneous and Heterogeneous mixture
Suppose you are given a mixture and you are asked to recognize whether this mixture is homogeneous or
Solution 2. Colloids 3. Suspension • Solution is a homogenous mixture of components • Solvent-
If the unknown mixture were a mixture of two metals then the flame color would be different and it would be impossible to identify the metal based on the flame color.
Since we obtain an unknown proportion of a mixture, it’s important to mention that a mixture is a result of a combination of two or more pure substances that do not react chemically. The physical properties of a mixture depend on its composition because the amounts of each substance making up a mixture can vary. By taking advantage of the unique physical properties of individual components within a mixture, it should be possible to separate a mixture into its components. Mixtures have the following fundamental properties:
A compound had a constant composition and as a hydrate it is considered a pure substance. According to the law of definite proportions, a compound always contains the same elements in the same proportions by mass, regardless of the amount of the sample, where it was found, or how it was prepared. The hydrate contains water molecules that are not easily detected by the naked eye, it looks rather dry and
Marketing mix -The marketing mix is commonly used marketing term. Its elements are basic, strategic components of a marketing plan. Which is mentioned as the four p’s, which include Price, place, product and promotion. More recently 3 more P’S have been added to the marketing mix which are people, process and physical evidence this is known as the extended marketing mix.
The marketing mix is the set of controllable, tactical marketing tools that a company uses to produce a desired response from its target market. It consists of everything that
Secondly, the definition of a homogeneous mixture. Homogeneous mixtures are mixtures in which the substance is uniform in structure or composition throughout. Lastly, the definition of heterogeneous mixtures. This is when a solution consists of dissimilar parts of elements or when you can see the individual elements. Our hypothesis was if the properties of individual substances compare with properties of mixed substances and we mix water with cornstarch, then it will create a substance that's properties switch between a solid and liquid that is a homogeneous mixture.
Take two test tubes, label each test tube according to solvent. Add 1 mL of distilled deionized water to the first test tube and 1 mL of ethanol to the second test tube. Next, add 1 mL of the unknown liquid to each test tube, shake for a small period of time, and observe patiently. During this observation, you will be able to determine whether the two liquids mix completely, slightly, or not at all. If the two liquids mix completely, then you should be able to see one liquid mixed together without a visible line indicating two different substances. This means the two liquids are considered soluble. If the two liquids
• Compounds are formed by a combination of two or more different kinds of atoms.
A product mix is the entire assortment of products that a firm offers. For example the IPod Shuffle which offers the following product mix; the device itself, the technology platform (the MP3 Format or storage system used by the shuffle), the product line to which the product belongs (Apple IPod line of MP3 music players) and the product category to which the offerings belong (MP3 players as opposed to IPhones for example).
A ‘product mix’ is the line of similar products a company offers, all of which may have different purposes. There are certain aspects of a product mix, including:
In some cases, a separation may fully divide the mixture into its pure constituents but it mostly converts a mixture of a chemical substance into two or more product mixtures.
There exists a lot of measures on mix flexibility range, the number of product types a system can produce. (Ettlie 1988, Jaikumar 1986), the size of the universe of products the system is capable of producing (e.g. Chatterjee et
Marketing mix is the set of controllable tactical marketing tools which that the firm blends to produce the response it wants in the target market.
A liquid is a nearly incompressible fluid that will suit to the its container’s shape. However, its volume always independent of pressure. There are four basic states of matter. They are solid, gas, plasma, and liquid. Besides, Liquid is the only state with a definite volume but no fixed shape. Water is the most common liquid on Earth. Liquid and gas are similar in many ways. Both of them can flow and take the shape of a container. However, most liquids cannot be compressed as others. Also liquids will not to
