Happiness lives between the twin towers of attitude and gratitude.
Attitudes are often the greatest source of happiness or unhappiness. These twin towers of patience and humility act as a beacon to light a path to attitude and gratitude.
94. Attitude and gratitude are not natural human attributes. Patience and humility underpin attitude and gratitude. A negative attitude will always have adverse outcomes, but a positive attitude can change the dynamics that underpin the situation.
95. The choice is ours to use the tools that are available to us, spiritually, morally, socially, intellectually and physically (the embodiment of happiness) to nurture and sustain happiness. We can conjure up the
“power of small gestures.”
96. Often, the universe blesses us with all the things that can make us happy. We may be in good health and have a successful career, a husband or wife with healthy

97. We can all bolster happiness in our lives with an attitude of gratitude even for the things in life that we take for granted such as a beautiful sunshine, living in a peaceful neighborhood or a loyal spouse and family members.
98. Gratitude has reciprocal benefits. When we exercise gratitude, the lives it influences radiates with happiness. On the other hand, ingratitude radiates unhappiness. Gratitude imbues happiness in the one who displays appreciation, as well as the one who is the recipient of an act of gratitude.
99. Consider a business partner who benefitted from the success of the enterprise, but walks away when the economy takes a downturn, leaving his or her business partner to cope with the financial dilemma.
100. Consider a husband or wife who rises to an executive management position in a corporation and then abandons the spouse because of perception that the spouse does not fit their new executive
Most people with a positive attitude are more likely to be successful in life. Those who disagree are less likely to be caring towards other's feelings. People who a have a positive outlook on life; in general are likable, more prosperous, and have a better sense of community. The importance of having a positive attitude is that it helps you improve your standard of living and someone else's day. In conclusion, just being positive helps everyone no matter have much you use. People who are positive towards themselves and others are more likable. Many have different daily life styles. Say if two same teenagers went to a interview for the same job. Teenager 1 is a young man that comes with the wrong type of clothing on; but his grades are amazing.
A person’s attitude can have a positive impact on many areas of their life such as their success, their health, and their happiness. If someone has a good attitude, he will have a more positive outlook on life which will set him up for success. If one adopts having a good attitude as a way of life, it will bring many changes into his life.
In “Happiness 101,” Harvard professor Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar presents his ideas pertaining to the achievability of happiness. He begins by discussing how individuals must give themselves permission to be human, so that they can feel the negative feelings before they reach the positive feelings. If negative feelings are held back without release, then they only intensify eventually blocking out the positive feelings. Ben-Shahar continues his presentation to the topic of managing stress on the micro, mezza, and macro levels. These levels include the ideas of meditation, sleep, taking time off, vacations, and the “three deep breaths.” Simplifying agendas and practicing quality over quantity has a positive effect on stress levels as well. At the conclusion of his presentation, Ben-Shahar discusses the positive effect of practicing gratitude on health, happiness, and well-being. After listening to Tal Ben-Shahar’s presentation, I completely agree with every point that Ben-Shahar uses over the topics of giving permission to be human, stress management, and practicing gratitude covered throughout his presentation over happiness.
In “The Diary of a Young Girl” the author states, “But as you can see, Kitty, I'm still alive, and that's the main thing” (Frank). Since Anne had a positive attitude about the situation she was in, it helped her realize that she should be thankful for the little things. It also helped her to forget about the hardships and celebrate the jubilant times. In “Dear Miss Breed” the author states as she was on her way to a Japanese internment camp, “One of the most beautiful scenery was when crossing a bridge which was right above the Colorado River” (Oppenheim). Louise Ogawa had a cheerful attitude and she gained positive experiences during her trip. As she was looking at the river, it helped her forget for a while about the things she is about to face. In the article “How Your Attitude Affects Your Reality” Honoree Corder states, “When something less-than-fantastic happens, you can respond or react. Choose to respond in whatever way is appropriate and then press the reset button on your attitude” (Corder). During a hard time, having a change in attitude is key, and very important. Having a negative attitude, however, will not help relieve the pain that is being felt. A hopeful and sanguine outlook on a situation will help to not focus on the unfortunate things in
Attitude: We will display a positive attitude through kindness in our interactions with each other.
Each and every individual faces obstacles and limitations unique to their own circumstances, and the way that those obstacles are met and overcome ultimately determine the fulfillment and happiness that person is able to acquire. Perhaps one of the most influential but commonly looked over influences on one’s development is the attitude of others, in addition to one’s own attitude. While a kind, strong, responsible, driven attitude can empower one to lead a fulfilling life, the positivity of others is equally as effective. Whether it be despite perseverance and optimism of the individual or in junction with the two, the attitudes of others’ have the ability to influence one’s life in significant ways. The
If you would like to live a happy and more so, successful life, it is vital that you learn to express gratitude wherever you go. In order to reach where you would like to be in life, everyone should concentrate on their goals and objectives. Through expressing gratitude, people can learn to show good deeds, and hence be able to receive the same goodness, in return. (Radwan, Msc.) Gratitude refers to the act of being thankful, noticing simple pleasures, counting every little blessing, and acknowledging every good done unto you. In other terms, it can be described as living life as if everything happening in it is a miracle, and being able to continuously acknowledge every much you receive. On the other hand, when people decide to concentrate a lot of energy on bad things in life, it will make them remain in the state of conflict. But by developing gratitude, it will allow someone to focus on positivity and the good things in life. It must be understood that this will allow an individual to always remain optimistic, and with enthusiasm much success can be achieved.
Happiness is one of the most significant dimensions of human experience. Many people can argue that happiness is a meaningful and desirable entity. Studies indicate that everyone pursues happiness in various aspects of their life. Our four fathers saw happiness as a need, so they made the pursuit of happiness as one of the three unalienable rights branded in the Declaration of Independence. There is a sense of complexity behind the meaning of happiness; its definition is not definite. Think of happiness as a rope; there are many thin fiber strands bonded together to become the strength of the rope. Like the analogy of the rope, there are numerous factors that can contribute to an individual’s overall happiness in life. This study is going to
But however, Emmons said that gratitude can leave us during rough time, harsh time take away grateful attitude, we must keep fighting for gratitude to have the power to appreciate life itself in order to eliminate any negative mindset or an psychological longevity effects
The result of having a positive attitude is shown by your emotions. In Dear Miss Breed: Louise Ogawa doesn’t know where she was going, but she had a positive attitude by saying “One of the most beautiful scenery was when
7. I disagree because I sometimes take things for granted. I look past all the nice aspects of my life and wish upon cooler and better things. For example, I have a nice car to drive to and from school everyday, but I'm always either looking on Craigslist, eBay, or YouTube for nicer, newer and faster cars and wishing I had them. My daily life I tend to focus more on the things I could have rather than the things I do have. I believe if I change this view I will be more cheerful day to
I will be researching different topics on being happy and the outcome that usually follows. I will explain how being happy for 100 days could most likely change your life. The inquiry question I hope to explore is, how can being happy for 100 days change your views on life and the people in it?
I think that a positive attitude is most important because it can get you through anything if you believe that you can. After Mr. Gardner thought he was through all of the “tough” times and he had sold his last bone density scanner, the government had taken all but twenty-one dollars of his money. Although at times he was angry he thought of the future, what he can accomplish, and

In organizations, much like in life, a person’s perspective determines one’s morale or attitude more than in any actual situation. Organizational culture and rules introduce a unique set of restraints and expectations that influence how employees feel, think, and act on a daily basis. Gratitude is a positive emotion that tends to be explicitly expressed, therefore, employees are particularly aware when it is happening, whether it is through words or actions (Fehr et al., 2017). Practice shows that increasing gratitude in a workplace leads to positive outcomes across multiple organizational levels, specifically benefiting the organization itself, its employees, and its customers. Therefore, it is in the company’s best interest to employ gratitude at all levels in order to create a positive work environment.
