Differences And Similarities Between The Western Roman And The Byzantine Empire

The Western Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire have a similarity and difference between their cultures even though they both came from the fall of the Roman Empire. Rome was conquered by the Germanic invaders, which led them to rule the Western Roman Empire. The other remaining half of Rome that survived was the Eastern now called the Byzantine Empire. In the Western Roman Empire contains the Germanic societies that were based on kinship and patriarchy. The Germans were polytheistic, which means worshipping many gods and goddess, but all of these were abandoned when the Germans started to believe in Christianity. The Western Roman Empire were similar to the Byzantine Empire because they both enjoyed watching the gladiators at the stadiums.
