Most people tend to chose the easy route when it comes to their appetite; however, the easiest route may not be the one that’s necessarily the healthiest. Now a days people are not cooking as much and which is why fast food is becoming so popular. In this essay, I will discuss the similarities and differences between home cooked meals vs. fast food in terms of one being healthier, can eat both at home, cost, variety of choices, and speed.
To start off, home cooked meals are considered to be healthier most of the time for many reasons. For example, you know the ingredients that in your food. Cooking is something that has been around since the beginning and something that we cannot afford to loose. Cooking is what makes us human, what provides us with the right nutrients and what keeps us from falling into the industries trap. Michael Pollan’s The Cooking Animal reinforced my belief on the importance of home cooked meals and also expands it.
You are driving home after a long day and do not feel like going home to cook, up ahead there are two fast food restaurants, McDonald's and Chick-fil-a. For some people thi,s decision will be a quick one to make for others it will be slower.while they are similar Thera are several differences between.For example the menu, food quality and, the customer service.
Throughout the years in the United States, fast food has become the prominent diet of citizens. Many people do not realize the harmful effects of eating fast food on a daily basis. Many people in the United States are use to consuming foods that are processed with sugars and other chemicals, without being aware of eating a unhealthy diet can increase the risks of being obese ;as well as, having numerous health issues. Although people try their best to eat healthy and more productive they do not know what foods to eat or whether if it is healthy for them. In the articles “Don’t Blame the Eater by David Zincekino and “Escape from the Western Diet” by Michael Pollan. There were a number of similarities and differences in the details highlighted in these two articles.

Fast Food Nation is written by Eric Schlosser, he presents a perspective on the development of societies adapting to the way that food is produced.
