Also, the function of these places is for use and celebration on regular service days, plus holy days. Each religion has holy days or days of special worship and each location holds the service for them. In addition to the service they hold, they provide a space for the religious leader to speak and teach to the congregation. Synagogues, churches, and mosques allow for the leader of the religion to provide teachings, understandings, and clarity to the religious text they all they study. Both Judaism and Islam do not allow for paintings of people or images to be in the place of worship. However, Christians have crucifixes, saints, angels, and statues within their churches.
There are many elements and functions of synagogues, churches, and mosques that are similar and differ greatly. It is important to understand where these similarities and differences stem from and why they are important to each religion and the worship of a monotheistic god as a whole. The function of all three that offer a place to learn text and worship God is same thorough out all. Each reminds the members of the religion why they pray and to whom they pray with the focal points in the buildings, and to remind them to devote themselves and their way of life to calling of
When I visited my first Jewish synagogue, I expected it to be very different. My previous experience with religious ceremonies was limited to a few visits to Baptist churches. The most surprising thing for me at this one was, oddly enough, its similarity to Christian services and rituals. I went into the religious visit expecting an enormous difference in the customs and perhaps even in the attitudes of the people attending the service. What I found instead was a religious ceremony very reminiscent of the Christian ones I’ve been to before.
Driving along the highway, all eyes are drawn as a magnet to the unique building with its golden dome and unusual architecture. The Islamic Center is located at the base of a residential street in a small neighborhood. The center houses an Islamic school, a community center, an international school and the Mosque, which is the place of worship for Muslims.
These structures are meant to summon spirits, serve as a place to pray, sing, dance, and much more. Another reason cultures build religious structures, is so
The first difference between the two religions is their services. Roman Catholic services are held in sanctuaries that are richly decorated
One of the many decisions that has to made in life is what, if any, religion they will practice. Christianity, the belief in God, and Jesus as his son, or Judaism, to follow the direction of the Torah are some of the major religions that a person may choose. This decision may be one of the biggest decisions of a person’s life, and each religion has similarities and differences, and pro’s and cons. Two of the major religions, Judaism and Christianity, are alike in their inspiration of sacred texts, but are different in their identity of Jesus, and practice of worship.
It is also used for meetings of the Muslim community, to discuss matters that may need to be reinforced or ways of improvement that can be applied, as well as a religious school with religious study classes, lectures, and a place where prayers are recited on dead before burial. This multiuse is not only used for Mosques but also Synagogues. Synagogues used for very comparable matters such as religious school for children, study classes for adults, funerals, lectures and meetings. This is all done in order to achieve social justice, which in the contemporary word is equally as important as worship in Judaism.
Throughout the world, there are billions of people that profess belief in a religion that most adequately answers the questions that most people ask regarding the origination of life to the self-purpose. Furthermore, within society their holds many people that believe in different religions that can cause for people to become biased and ethnocentric when evaluating certain aspects of a different religion. Due to this task of delving into research of a religion outside of your own, I chose to further my understanding through observing a service at an Orthodox Jewish Synagogue. In being that I am a Christian, I will be observing from a perspective in which I am informed about some of the scripture, but puzzled when it comes to many of the
Christian worship centers on meetings or services held on Sunday. These services consist of Biblical readings, communion, and music either with or without instrumental accompaniment, prayer, a teaching from the Bible in the form of a sermon and a collection of tithes. Other forms of worship, such

Architecture comes with many significant meanings, including religious significance. The Pantheon, built from 118 to 125 CE in Rome, Italy, was a temple made to worship the Roman gods and goddesses. This temple is one of the most important buildings both in history and architecture, influencing many other monuments with its form, such as The Dome of the Rock. The Dome of the Rock, built from 687 to 692 CE, was the first great Islamic building. Located in Jerusalem, it is a shrine still very significant to many religions, such as Judaism and Christianity, today. Though not resembling each other in appearance, these buildings are extremely similar, in terms of religious meaning. The Pantheon and the Dome of the Rock, through their own distinctive form and similar location backgrounds, illuminate religion as the most important factor in each society, as these monuments symbolize a sense of unification throughout the city.
The prayer space will be carpeted and clean, since people will be putting their foreheads on the ground in worship of their Creator. In some of the grander mosques, these carpets may be works of art in themselves, but most mosques just have a simple carpet of one color, with horizontal lines showing the places for the rows of prayer.
Where do Jews, Christians, and Muslims usually pray? These three religions have a house of worship where they can sit down and pray. But however, the houses are different and build differently for their satisfaction and comfort. Jews pray in a synagogue which is also like a temple. These temples are built facing Jerusalem with long halls for prayer. Synagogues can also have smaller rooms for studies and sometimes a social hall for occasions as well as offices for bookkeeping. For Christians, they pray in normal churches. Most churches, especially older ones, are built in the slope of the cross. Muslim's house of worship is a Mosque. Mosques are built with no furniture, no painting or statues. It's just a big empty room where Muslim can sit on the floor and pray. When entering a Mosque, shoes are required to be taken off. When men and women pray, they are separated into two different rooms. All three religions pray in a house, that is a correct. But, the way the houses are built for them to pray are different.
The commonality among each of these religions is that they all require a set of rules to reach a particular end goal. These quotes differ regarding the manner in which they are presented. By manner, I mean the nature of the quote. Judaism and Islam provide very similar passages. They both share distinctive qualities which require one to follow a set of rules or as a result, be punished for not doing so. Their moral law is dependent on how you love, and obey the Lord. The Quran threatens that if one is to not obey to the standard that is expected one shall not be guided and, in a sense, be left just as one has has left or abandoned the Lord.
Church and religious services are the most important aspects of the society and each person is required to devote themselves to God through their religious studies
Islam and Christianity are wide spread religions in the world. These two major world religions have different belief systems and their common originality, values and some beliefs have enabled most of their believers to respect and try to understand each other's faith. The concept of rituals is more important in understanding religion. I will explain Islam and Christianity based on rituals.
