For example, while in Mexico the principal religion is the Catholicism, in England its religion is the Anglicanism. Both religions are part of the Christianism, and they share some characteristics, but in the essential they are different. Both religions read the bible, and they recite the apostle’s creed. Also, they share the same rituals as the baptism and the Holy Communion, but apart of it they do not are similar. For instance, in Catholicism the main authority is the Pope, and the Anglican Communion says that the authority is depending of every Anglican Church because they are independent. On the other hand, Roman Catholics do not recognize the Anglicanism as real religion with validity because they are separated from the Vatican, and they do not obey the pope. For example, in Mexico it is usual to celebrate the day of the dead while in England everyone celebrates Halloween. So that, in Mexico the dead is celebrated in a fun way and to remember all dead people whom people loved while Halloween in England is usually for children to ask "Trick or Treat", and it is taken just as a party for the older people. Also, in Mexico there are a lot of religious traditions as the “Semana Santa”, “La Candelaria”, or “Los Reyes Magos” while in England they are not celebrated because its religion. Mexican culture celebrates their independence with a holiday and fireworks on Cinco de Mayo. The American ritual for independence is celebrated on July 4th also with a holiday and fireworks. Another ritual that is participated in annually by both Mexican and American cultures is the celebration of Christmas. Gift giving is a common ritual during the Christmas season. There are also some very unique rituals specific to each culture. For starters, one the most distinctive rituals in all of the World takes place in the Mexican culture, Dia de Los Muertos. Dia de Los Muertos is a celebration with masks like skulls and dancing honoring late ancestors. Another ritual specific to the Mexican culture is the holiday recognizing the Lady of the Guadalupe. The ritual feast remembers the sightings of her near present day Mexico City. American culture also contains some unique rituals. A very patriotic ritual takes place in the grade school class everyday; it is called the Pledge of Allegiance. This ritual instills patriotic values as well as teaching loyalty to thy nation. Thanksgiving is another example of a ritual not in Mexican culture that is in American culture.
To begin with, food is perhaps the first difference that people notice between these countries. For example, Americans eat turkey and mash potato for Thanksgiving dinner while Colombians eat “ajiaco” as a typical dish. Cheeseburger is a traditional lunch for Americans. However, a traditional lunch in Colombia is called “bandeja paisa”. Americans love hot dogs, nothing complements a baseball game better than a hot dogs. In contrast, Colombian enjoys their games with “arepas” which is a mix of flour and cheese. In addition, neither American nor Colombian has a better food than the other; they are simply different.

The two main climates are tropical and desert, which are two very hot climates. It is plentiful with natural resources such as gold, timber, zinc, and silver. There are approximately two hundred million people who inhabit Mexico, and the predominant language spoken is spanish. The vast majority of people follow a christian faith, but it is not forced upon the citizens. The laws of Mexico is for the most part similar to the United states, but can slightly differ.

In the 17th century England and Spain were both in a race to settle the New World. After Christopher Columbus had reached this New World Spain almost immediately sent people over to explore and colonize. After the Treaty of Tordesillas secured their land, Spain’s empire quickly expanded across The Americas. England had a bit of a late start when it came to colonization. Even though their first few attempts such as Jamestown, and Roanoke were not very successful England kept at it. Eventually, England and Spain became the two most powerful nations in the Americas. Even though both nations had the same goal, their political, religious, and economic development were very different.
Mexico and the United States are countries that have several aspects to relate and compare the differences that exist between them. Each country has its own characteristics, and is a way of being able to identify to other countries. In this case, Mexico and United States are independent parents with an extensive history where we can know aspects of each one of them. Many Mexican people have preserved and still do many of their ancestors’ traditions. Tradition plays a big role in my family for example: the food we eat, the music we listen to, what we dance to and what we celebrate to. I wanted a sweet sixteen but of course being Mexican my parents said no. Being in the Mexican culture tradition is that when you turn 15 you’re supposed to have a Quinceanera it symbolizes that you are no longer a kid but you are now a young women. Many people think a Quinceanera is just a party but the real tradition is to have a church mass. Since I am catholic that consists of me going to church and thanking God.

They celebrate Christmas as their ancestors did, which is Posada and the Holy Night. Posada is between December 16th and Holy Night December 24th. Family members and friends act out when St. Joseph and Virgin Mary were looking for lodging. All Mexicans go to church to attend midnight Mass.
