Tupac Shakur was born Lasane Parish Crooks on June 16, 1971 in East Harlem, New York. In 1972 his mother changed his name to Tupac Amaru Shakur after the 18th century Peruvian revolutionary Tupac Amaru Shakur who led indigenous acts under Spanish rule. During Tupac childhood his mother was a Black Panther Party, a United States militant group which was a party to espouse violent revolution against local police. Tupac’s mother was jailed while she was pregnant with him. She was found not guilty and defended herself and won the case. Tupac’s step father Matulu Shakur was part of the FBI most wanted for helping his untie escape jail. Since the FBI would always follow them around looking for his stepfather they moved to Baltimore, Maryland after his stepfather was arrested. …show more content…

This was where he formed a close friend relationship with his friend until death Jada Pinkett. With Tupac later moving to California as a sophomore in high school he dropped out of school, and started making music for Digital Underground. In Digital Underground Tupac was a backup singer and dancer. After Tupac making his first hit song Brenda’s got a Baby he signed with Interscope records. Tupac’s first movie was Juice where he played the best friend of a father with Tupac taking the name Bishop. Throughout his career Tupac had several run in’s with the law, one with Jaywalking and he was beaten by two Caucasian police officers. Another was where two off duty police officers were beating up an innocent man on the side of the road, Tupac then got out of his car and tried to stop the men when Tupac did that the off duty officer pointed a gun at his face and said words that I cannot say because it’s not school appropriate. But Tupac got in his car got his firearm and fired shots at the officers. Tupac was not fined or Jailed for this because it was out of
