1. Introduction Parenting and the form of parenting is the foundation of all children’s lives.(Studley,1998) has used the term Indigenous knowledge System(IKS) to refer to a body of empirical knowledge and beliefs handed down through generations of long time inhabitants pf a specific locale ,by cultural transmission ,about the relationship of living beings with each other and their environment. The Oxford dictionary defines parenting as a process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. The modern worldview and the Christian worldview are the two predominant parenting styles that are used in world today and that in my opinion unfair to our indigenous knowledge is. Traditional worldview which encompasses the traditional way of parenting has been side lined for numerous years and now that the folk way of doing thing is being researched and proven to work best the honours in in us to make sure that were integrate in our everyday lives.
