Discrimination Is Discrimination Wrong

    Since the beginning of American history, the black race has been the inferior race during times of slavery and times of freedom for black people. They have had to fight to be seen as legitimate first-class citizens, whether that be through slave uprisings in the pre-civil war era, the civil rights movement in the mid-1900’s, or the Black Lives Matter campaign that was started in 2013. Though not everyone has lived an easy life, and not everyone will, the people who have had it the hardest were the enslaved African-Americans in the early stages of our country.

African Americans have been treated unfairly for many years since slavery. Although slavery had ended in the U.S., whites were still being disrespectful and racist toward the African Americans. They still treated them like they were lower than all the whites. Just because of the color of their skin, African Americans were being mistreated. They did all they could possibly do to get equality for blacks, but they did them nonviolently. They never even once used violence. They did events like boycotts, sit-ins, school integration, and marches.

They painted their face black color, and made their mouth red color. Few white people treat very bad African American. They destroy their property. They killed a lot of people who were innocent such as children, elderly, and youth. Some white people did not even think about that those people were human like them. For example, “Toms,” “Sellouts” were absolutely ignorant of themselves, their history and what they did. I think, they change their behavior when they were educated. However, that people truly did not understand the background and culture of African American. Every good think African American does. White people want to use it. Usually, they did not allow them to do anything because they want to control them.

Whites believed that Blacks had no right to have be able to read, write, attend school or work. To White Americans giving African Americans a chance anything seemed diabolical to them, and they would do anything to try and stop African Americans from being Equal.

The black people in the North felt they had to do more then the people

In 1619 a Dutch ship brought 20 slaves to America and it took nearly 240 years for slavery to end in 1865(Ronald, , para. 3).These helpless slaves were taken to America and put to work growing anything from cotton to tobacco. Slaves had absolutely no rights. They were simply property of their “Massa’.” Being disrespectful to a white man could get a Negro killed and they just accepted the facts of the matter. They were disrespected in many ways. One way they were disrespected was Dorothy Vaughn wasn’t able to get the position of supervisor because they didn't want to consider her. Another way they were disrespected is when Katherine Johnson, whenever she had to use the washroom she had to go a mile away from her work because there were no colored bathrooms where she worked. The last way they were violated was when Mary Jackson wasn’t able to go to a school to get a degree because it was an all-white

The bus. The white got to sit up front and the black had to sit in the front. And even if there was a seat open in the front the African Americans weren't allowed to sit there because they said they didn’t deserve it. It wasn’t fair to the African Americans that they had to sit in the back of the bus because they are both the same thing just different color, If anything the whites should of sat in the back because they were so mean to the African Americans and had a lot of attitude.
