2.What is "360-Degree Feedback?" Have any of you participated in this kind of feedback?
360 degree feedback is “a method and a tool that provides each employee the opportunity to receive performance feedback from his or her supervisor and four to eight peers, reporting staff members, coworkers and customers. Most 360 degree feedback tools are also responded to by each individual in a self assessment” (Heathfield, 2012). While 360 degree feedback has some drawbacks, it does permit employees to understand how they are viewed, not only by managers, but also by coworkers. I have participated in some type of 360 feedback, though most of my performance evaluations have been conducted by supervisors, and the 360 degree feedback scenarios in which I’ve participated seem to have largely ignored the input by coworkers.
