The words "success" and "positive attitude" should really be considered as synonyms. When it comes right down to it, these two ideas are really just the same thing. If you have success, for example, you will have a positive attitude and if you have a positive attitude, you will surely have success. There really is no difference.
Some people may argue that they have often held a positive mental attitude in the past but things didn't work out for them. They now feel that positive attitude isn't always enough to bring you to success in life. You need more than a positive attitude, they say. You need "luck" and "good fortune" as well as a good attitude. Although this may be true in the short term, this is not actually true over the long term.

They feel good about their lives most of the time and they rarely suffer from depression or anxiety like so many other people do. Successful people feel good and they sometimes take their positive mental attitude as a "given", often wondering why more people don't feel the same way as they do. Actually, what they fail to recognize is that they are extremely lucky to have a positive mental attitude and this attitude they possess is actually the real reason why their lives are so good most of the time. They are reaping the rewards of the good things they did before. If they decide they want more from their lives, they are in a good position to try for more and to even achieve greater and greater things and it is their positive mental attitude that will make these extra things possible.
Positive mental attitude makes it possible for people to add the frosting to their cake of success and to enjoy even greater things than just "mere success". We should be grateful that there are other people who can actually go on to spread their happiness to others and this is what the frosting of success is all about. For us, we must look at the place we are at and do everything we can to improve our attitude each and every day. This is the royal road to success at whatever cost it may
Most people with a positive attitude are more likely to be successful in life. Those who disagree are less likely to be caring towards other's feelings. People who a have a positive outlook on life; in general are likable, more prosperous, and have a better sense of community. The importance of having a positive attitude is that it helps you improve your standard of living and someone else's day. In conclusion, just being positive helps everyone no matter have much you use. People who are positive towards themselves and others are more likable. Many have different daily life styles. Say if two same teenagers went to a interview for the same job. Teenager 1 is a young man that comes with the wrong type of clothing on; but his grades are amazing.
Being positive are ways people can get through certain obstacles as well because they are expecting good things to happen. Furthermore, optimism can make you more persistent because people try to figure out what they can do to make the situation better or how can they learn from the struggle? In the poem, Nikki Giovanni learned to be optimistic because in the 1st and 2nd stanza, “If I can't do what I want to do then my job is to not do what I don't want to do it's not the same thing but it's the best I can do.” In these lines, she is still trying to be optimistic with her life because even though she is unhappy it was the best she could do, so she is going to not let the negativity affect
In “The Diary of a Young Girl” the author states, “But as you can see, Kitty, I'm still alive, and that's the main thing” (Frank). Since Anne had a positive attitude about the situation she was in, it helped her realize that she should be thankful for the little things. It also helped her to forget about the hardships and celebrate the jubilant times. In “Dear Miss Breed” the author states as she was on her way to a Japanese internment camp, “One of the most beautiful scenery was when crossing a bridge which was right above the Colorado River” (Oppenheim). Louise Ogawa had a cheerful attitude and she gained positive experiences during her trip. As she was looking at the river, it helped her forget for a while about the things she is about to face. In the article “How Your Attitude Affects Your Reality” Honoree Corder states, “When something less-than-fantastic happens, you can respond or react. Choose to respond in whatever way is appropriate and then press the reset button on your attitude” (Corder). During a hard time, having a change in attitude is key, and very important. Having a negative attitude, however, will not help relieve the pain that is being felt. A hopeful and sanguine outlook on a situation will help to not focus on the unfortunate things in
There are many different understandings of what success is. Some relate success to money, others relate success to happiness, but it all depends on the type of person.
We cannot let our work and living conditions limit our success, we must take control of the situations in our lives. As much as we have all heard it, we need to keep a positive attitude and mindset, or at least try to. This is probably the easiest way to take control of the situations you are in; keeping a positive attitude has been known to increase your physical and mental health, which can really only benefit you. In a study performed by the University of California, Riverside, in which productivity, happiness, and overall physical and mental well-being were analyzed in working individuals, it was concluded that a positive attitude and outlook has a great effect on one’s life. Generally positive, or “happy people,” were found to be more satisfied with their jobs, to perform tasks better, and less likely to be unemployed and more likely to be physically healthier and live longer than their less happy peers (Joy). Positive people being less likely to be unemployed allows these individuals to accumulate more money, which makes the general public happier nowadays, and this ultimately makes the dream of having success more easily attainable. Happy individuals being found to be healthier and to therefore live longer than less happy individuals gives these happy individuals more time to attain the “American Dream” as well. Keeping
Each and every individual faces obstacles and limitations unique to their own circumstances, and the way that those obstacles are met and overcome ultimately determine the fulfillment and happiness that person is able to acquire. Perhaps one of the most influential but commonly looked over influences on one’s development is the attitude of others, in addition to one’s own attitude. While a kind, strong, responsible, driven attitude can empower one to lead a fulfilling life, the positivity of others is equally as effective. Whether it be despite perseverance and optimism of the individual or in junction with the two, the attitudes of others’ have the ability to influence one’s life in significant ways. The
We don’t try hard enough or sacrifice ourselves to reach at our highest level of achievement. This is where the characteristic optimism comes useful to important situations or decisions in our lives. In one word, it’s best described as the predictor of success, which is
There are many different views on positive thinking whether it is to be positive all the time as suggested by the film The Secret, be a realist and don’t be delusional as stated by Barbara Ehrenreich in her speech “How Positive Thinking Undermines America”, or just be somewhere in between such as a person who is optimistic but not to the point where they expect something they want to come out of the blue, they have to work for it.
I am convinced that my attitude coupled with the unique strength of divine intervention will be the major factors propelling me towards excellence in my Professional career. My father has repeatedly instilled in me that failure is not an option. A great attitude serves as the foundation for all things I do. Having a positive attitude means many things. It is a way of life rather than something you put on and take off depending on
It may bring them out of a depressed state after something atrocious has happened. Being positive can help the people around me. If my friend lost an important game and is mournful about it, then being positive and getting ice cream will help her feel better. That is my first reason why having a favorable mindset results in achievements.
Shawn Achor states that the most important key is to reverse thinking if you want to succeed in life. He says, “ Change our formula for happiness and success.” For example, our formula is like this: if you have a great job, you will be happy. If you get promoted, you will be happier. However, according to him, our brain requires the opposite order; you feel happy, and then it comes to success. He explains how the brain uses different mechanisms keeping up motivation positively, in order to perform much better. He mentions many advantages for work if you are optimistic.
I think that a positive attitude is most important because it can get you through anything if you believe that you can. After Mr. Gardner thought he was through all of the “tough” times and he had sold his last bone density scanner, the government had taken all but twenty-one dollars of his money. Although at times he was angry he thought of the future, what he can accomplish, and
In the midst of adversity, positivity can be described as a way of being or having an optimistic attitude and behavior. In the words of Walt Disney “I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.” Though Disney has undergone backlash regarding the depiction of the Polynesian god in the film Moana and criticism of patriarchal culture in Disney’s Enchanted. There is still many positive effects his films have on children today. The issues of equality, self-acceptance and faith can all be seen in Disney’s work. His viewpoint states that while having a positive mindset is beneficial, an individual should not be naive to the fact that life isn’t always what we want it to be. Positive thinking is like a muscle. However, the only difference is that it gives you a mental workout. The more you exercise it with positive thoughts, the stronger it will become. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not possible to think positively all the time. However a larger part of your thoughts should manifest good will and virtue. Therefore, I believe one should embody the value of positivity rather than the opposing value of negativity.
Success requires more than talent. While talent and knowledge are essential, the key that unlocks them both is your state of mind. Being positive makes you more dependable. When you are positive you will find that you instinctively respect others, and are therefore more considerate.
Optimistic and pessimistic attitudes constantly affect the outcome of people's lives. In my life, I try to keep an optimistic attitude about the things I do because I know it will help lead me to more desirable ends. There have been many situations in which optimism has helped me through difficult times. Two areas in particular have provided me optimistic experiences: athletics
