‘If you believe as strongly in things like them… can we make them happen?' In 2005, fantasy writer, Ridley Pearson, released the first fantastical novel in the series Kingdom Keepers which proves this idea. With fantasy and technology combining to create the most captivating of realms, Disney After Dark is a magical novel to read, with several themes, including imagination changing into reality and magic. Today, I am here to explain to you parents from the PNC how Disney After Dark is interesting to young people Disney After Darks first chapter begins with Finn, a main character, ‘standing next to the flagpole...in the heart of the Magic Kingdom.' This is imagery, which is used to cast images of Disneyland into our minds. He meets Wayne, an old imagineer, who tells Finn to gather the other DHIs (Disney Host Interactive). Disneyland contains magic due to the belief flowing into its grounds and characters. The children are hesitant to believe, with Finn asking, ‘You’re saying that because the park makes them real, they are real?’ Tone is used during the novel, making us feel uncertain and excited about what’s going to happen next. Personification is also used to describe how the park makes something real, which it wouldn’t normally. This text is in present tense. Furthermore, magic is something that teenagers love the thought of, as then they could possibly wield it to their uses. There are seven main characters in this novel, including Wayne, the five children and Amanda. Finn is the leader of the group, while Charlene is the athlete, due to her being a ‘cheerleader’.
