Moana strays away from the typical story of a Disney princess film. She does not have to be saved by a man, and end up with her “Prince Charming.” Moana is independent from the beginning, a strong leader, resilient, and she is not white! Moana broke the barrier for the lack of accurate representation in Disney films and we finally got to see a woman take the lead in a film and stay in the lead without a romantic aspect to fall back on.

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess in a castle in a faraway land. This little girl was beloved by all her people in the kingdom, for she had a kindness that was rarely possessed in her world. Her life was perfect. The little girl had two loving parents, a castle so big that every day she discovered a different room, an endless supply of food, and a closet full of beautiful gowns. She was an innocent little girl that thought she understood the world. That little girl was me.

It also produces and sells their own original products and animated television programs. They manage Disneyland Parks along with resorts all over the world.

A young girl with black hair and brown eyes sees a beautiful princess named Cinderella who has blond hair, blue eyes, and flawless skin. She believes she will never be as radiant and beautiful as the princess because they don’t look alike. Unfortunately, there are many cases like this example that have lasting negative effects on children. Walt Disney Productions have a negative effect on children through stereotypes, violent actions, and sexism presented through its characters’ physical characteristics and actions. Disney has been a prominent factor in society for many years.

When I was born Disney was in the midst of its prime or golden age. It was during the time where movie after movie was just a hit. Every movie they made was just making bank which is still true today but not all of them are of the quality of the movies during the Disney renaissance.

On Day 30 (Wednesday), Rachelle and I decided to finish strong, so we spent a full 16 hours at Disneyland. I was really tired at the end, but it felt good to finally cross the finish line.
