Walt Disney is an international company founded in 1923 by brothers Roy and Walt Disney. The corporate headquarters and primary production facilities are located at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, the area where Disney was initially created. Today Disney is one of the largest and most reputable companies in the film and entertainment industry earning $43 billion in revenues in 2007. Walt Disney Company earns revenues in four strategic areas including consumer products (9.6%), media networks (38.4%), studio entertainment (26.4%) and parks and resorts (29%).

Who could ask for a more magical place to take a family vacation than Disney World. This place was really a dream come true. My trip to Disney World was by far the best family vacation that I have ever been on.

Six Flags, Inc. is the largest regional theme park operator in the world. Currently Six Flags operates 18 parks in the US, one in Canada and one in Mexico. In the aggregate, Six Flags’ theme parks offer over 800 rides, including more than 120 roller coasters. The following questions pertain to Six Flags’ goodwill.

The company I chose to invest in is the Universal Healthcare Services. UHS inc operates many different types of businesses including, acute care hospitals, behavioral health centers, ambulance services, surgical hospitals and oncology centers (www.uhsinc.com). It is important to investors that the company is within the top leadership of their market. United health services is well known and respected within their market, making them market leaders. Market leadership means that the company will have more pricing power and a bigger presence within the market. Market leadership also means that the company will have a large fan base and brand recognition. Six flags had the highest net income, return on sales, current ratio, and stockholders equity. In addition, Six Flags has the lowest debt-to equity ratio of the three companies. This shows that the company is thinking more so in the long term by balancing their debt and profit. The issue with Six Flags is that it is not driven to help their stockholders. Therefore, from an investment standpoint this is the safest, but most neutral in terms of making a profit.

The legendary amusement park Six Flags New England is situated in Western Massachusetts in the city of Agawam, Massachusetts, and has been running since 1870. During this time, it was originally an ordinary picnic with a cluster of trees named Gallup’s Grove. Subsequently, the park replaced its name with Riverside, and has had its name of Riverside for the majority of the entire period of the 1900s. One famous event, known as The 1929 Wall Street Crash, then had an unfortunate effect on the amusement park, and as a result, the amusement park shut down in 1939 after countless efforts to reestablish the amusement park. After the Wall Street Crash, Edward Carroll Senior made history when made an investment and paid for the amusement park, and developed the amusement park into a notable success in New England. After a century of the amusement park being known as Riverside, it then changed its name to Six Flags New England in 2000. This amusement park has various rides with a maximum amount of thrill which have customers at the edge of their seats, less thrilling rides which are excellent for just sitting back and enjoying themselves without all the maximized thrill, eating, entertainment, and shopping for relaxing from all the exciting rides and taking it easy, and Hurricane Harbor to cool you off in the summer and Fright Fest to terrorize and startle you during Halloween.

The first company I have selected for the Financial Analysis project is Southwest Airlines Co, which trades under the ticker symbol (LUV). Southwest Airlines operates passenger airlines that provide scheduled air transportation services in the US. The company operates around 694 aircrafts, and serves 97 destinations in 41 states, including 6 near- international companies. The second company I selected is Johnson & Johnson, which trades under (JNJ). Johnson & Johnson, along with its subsidiaries, is engaged in the research and development, manufacture, and sales of various products in the healthcare field worldwide.

The magic of Disney is an interesting topic to know more about. The idea of being in a fantasy world and enjoy the magic in their stories and cartoons make it magic for children and adults. Two of the best Entrepreneurs started the project and transform it into a multimillionaire company that will stay long. The Walt Disney Company is a company that started from the bottom thanks two big entrepreneurs Roy and Walt Disney. Even though they did not have a lot to start with, the organizational structure and leadership towards their employees was key to success. I expect to learn from their strategies, leadership and entrepreneur vision, transform a small partnership business to a multimillionaire company is an interesting topic to learn about.

One of the things that make up the specialty of the Four Seasons resort at Walt Disney World is its rooms. The curtains of the balcony, matches with with the decoration of the bed and thee color of coach, where there is a crystal hanging from the ceiling. the bed is white as the snow with pillows of the same color of the sofa. Furthermore, a bouquet of roses is placed on top of the central table as well as on each side of the bed. In addition to its decoration, the rooms are also spacious. Although the balcony is not immense, the bed is enormous as if three people were to sleep there. likewise the bed, the bathroom is very spacious. it includes a separate shower, toilet, and a huge tube placed near the hand shower. The company I have selected for the final project is Lowe’s Home Improvement. I chose this company because it is a well know fortune 500 company. Lowe’s was founded in 1946 and has grown from a small hardware store into the 2nd largest home improvement retailer worldwide, 2nd to only Home Depot. Lowe’s started as a single store in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina in 1921 by Lucius Smith Lowe. The company went public in 1961 and quickly grew in numbers. Yesterday evening we went over to Disney Springs for dinner at Jock Lindsey 's, but first we wanted to swing by the new Ganachery Chocolate Shoppe that had just opened a couple days before. We love good chocolate, so we had high hopes for this newest addition to the list of high-end foodie shops at Walt Disney World. The Ganachery did not disappoint! For most people, unless you know of some little artisan confectionery, the best chocolates you can get your hands on are Godiva. There is an excitement and ritual to opening that gleaming golden box and breathing in that smell. Amplify the smell, the taste, the creaminess by 10 fold; THEN you have the Ganachery chocolates!

Five companies have been chosen in order to conduct research into the securities that they use within their company. The five companies are: Oracle, Disney, Cisco, Wal-mart and a general electric company. The companies chosen span over various industries starting with Oracle and Cisco which are technology companies, Disney which is in the movie industry, Wal-Mart which is a supermarket and lastly an electricity service industry company. This gives us a better view of how the securities change depending on not only the company but also the industry which they are involved in.
