Respect is a feeling that everyone should feel, but not everyone feels it. For some reason people forget to show respect, especially when it comes to religions. People assume that it is acceptable to disrespect other religions because what they believe in is right and no one else. Some Christians continue to dishonour other religions even though the Bible continuously talks about respect and acceptance. They also forget that they are disrespecting the people who believe and worship that religion. People think that they should not befriend someone of a different religion because it has no benefits and is pointless, but it is actually beneficial. Making friendships with people from different religions can help stop conflict and build stronger relationships. Religions are holy bonds which should not be disrespected in any way.
In the Bible, the concept of respect and acceptance is a consistent theme. The stories in the Bible remind us to respect and welcome everyone, including those of different religions. In Romans 10:12 it states, "For there is no difference between Jew and Greek: the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on Him." In Ephesians 4:32 it says, "Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you." In Romans 10:12, it is telling us that there is no difference between us, as we were all created in God's image. We call our Lord, God, and other religions have their own names for their God. Essentially
The way that you treat, think about, and speak to others should be in a way that is consistent with biblical teachings. In both Matthew and Luke, we are taught that we are to “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31). If we wish to be treated fairly, we should treat others fairly. In 1 Corinthians, Paul tells us that we should look to him as an example because he looks to Christ as his example. If we try to be as much like Christ in our thoughts and actions, we will treat others kindly, lovingly, and welcoming.
‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. The second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two precepts hang all the law and the prophets’ (Mathew 22.37, 38, 39, 40). ‘By this all men know that they are my disciples, if ye have love one to another’ (John 13.35) …’He who loveth God loveth his brother also’ (1 John 4.21) …’If any man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar’ (1 John 4.20) …The first thing that takes our attention is the saying of Jesus, ‘Thou shalt love,’ etc. (501-2)
"For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is
if you can not respect someone, do not expect them to respect you. This word has lost a lot of meaning over time, and it is sad to see. Respect to me is knowing that no matter what I do, say, or think, the person never thinks twice to taking my side and defending me and vice versa. In the book, Amir says, "In the end, I was Pashtun and he was Hazara, I was Sunni and he was Shi'a, and nothing was ever going to change that." This is powerful. Amir is friends with a hazara, an “outcast” to the afghani culture, while he is Pashtun, one of the highest casts. But they are still friends, and that is respect. It is like rap artist Kendrick Lamar(a Piru) and Schoolboy Q(a Crip) being friends. that takes a tremendous amount of
Respect it is something everyone wants, not many have, and few will give. Some people would appreciate having a little bit of respect from others, and some should make efforts to show some more respect. Unfortunately, this does not happen all the time. Maybe this is because respect is not clearly understood. What is respect? The dictionary defines it as an act of giving particular attention or high or special regard. Another definition shows respect as a feeling or attitude of admiration and deference toward somebody or something. This does not explain completely what it is, but at least it gives us an idea about what it may be. it is something that you earn over time through your
It is important to allow someone to know that you respect them. It will ease the conversation and create trust. Behavior and attitude will allow the person demanding respect to feel that respect. When we respect each other, there are fewer conflicts. People get along easier and avoid the unnecessary drama associated with a lack of respect.
In other cases respect is earned, and not given. What I mean by this is that, sometimes people must gain the respect of others. This can be earned in many ways, like being respectful of others, being the best you can be, and doing kind things for others. This respect can cause people to look up and follow in example of someone, and eventually making you an example for others to follow and look up to, on so on and so forth.
Lastly Jesus teaches us about chapter 5 verses 43-48, which explains that you should love your neighbor, and love your enemies. Pray for the people that mistreat you, by doing that you will be acting as a child of God. If you love only that loves you, what 's really the point? How does that make you different from anybody else? Jesus explains you are to be perfect like God is perfect.
In daily life showing respect is easy. For example, holding the door for someone and not letting it slam in their face, giving up your seat on the bus to the elderly or someone else who needs it, or by simply ignoring an opinion that may differ from ours instead of berating the original poster on why they are wrong. With a little bit of respect for one another we can all make the world a better place for everyone that lives on Earth.
Everyone wants to be respected. It’s in our nature, but in order to obtain respect, first of all one has to respect oneself. Second, one has to show respect to others in order to gain respect from them. If one doesn’t show respect to someone, that person may often feel blown off and lose respect for you. Respect in my eyes is like a math equation loyalty plus duty equals respect. respect is gained in conducting ones self in a way that others can stand
The Bible has a very strong view on racism, and the way you treat other people. The Bible says very clearly that it is wrong for one person to treat another as inferior in anyway. Christians believe that everybody should be treated as equal, regardless of their colour, beliefs or ethnic background. Christian teachings talk strongly about equality and how you should treat someone who is an
When coming across people who have total different opinions from mine, I always act respectfully. For example, at school, we have to do many team projects; most often, team members may come from total different cultural background, and thus always have different opinions about the same thing. Being respectful to other students, I am well-mannered, using appropriate language, opening to criticisms, and conducting myself professionally. If everyone knows how to respect to others and act respectfully to each other, we will easily to get along with each other and thus there be more happiness and less conflict in our society, so we will make the world a better place.
Some people believe our life is based off of morals, a belief of right/justification or wrong/ unjust. Living this way perceives their ways of the world by doing what they feel is good or bad or what is lead by their conscience regardless of religion. Others believe in religion, a feeling or act of faith, from God or “gods” ( Merriam-Webster). These acts motivated by faith and God/ “gods” provide a comprehension between choices, a choice given to all for all based off of a religious belief. In analyzing this presentation, it will show what the writer of this topic is trying to point out to the intended audience or its purpose, while conveying to the readers what morality and religion is.
Respect is an important value to be taught when growing up. Through the years I have learned that in order to learn anything you must have respect for others. I have learned many valuable lessons from listening to my grandmother. She has told me many of her experiences, which has made me a better person. Having respect for other people has allowed me to be more open-minded and see qualities in people that most would not. I have always listened to what my friends and family has to say. That doesn’t always mean that I agree with them, but it is their opinion, so I respect it. In return I receive respect from them. As people begin to respect me more their trust in me also grows.
Christians should teach those as God taught Jesus to love show meekness and humbleness to all people (John 20:21). People of different cultural and ethnic has the right to exercise their beliefs. As a Christian it is ethical to show love to all people of all walks of life (Acts 1:8).
