Any tightly sealable container works, but you probably have an empty water bottle laying around somewhere. Add oil, water, and food coloring to the bottle. Fill the bottle 3/4 of the way full with vegetable oil, then top it off with water and about 10 drops of food coloring (or enough to make the solution appear fairly dark). Cut an Alka-Seltzer or Airborne tablet into pieces. You can either ration the pieces to make your lava lamp last longer or add more than one piece at a time for more interesting effects. Add pieces of the tablet to the bottle. This will cause the mixture to bubble. Repeat every time the bubbling stops. Unfortunately, with this type of lava lamp, the effects are temporary. Put the cap on and tip the bottle back and forth. This will cause the tiny droplets of colored water moving around inside the oil to join together, making bigger lava-squirt blobs. That 's what scientists call them, anyway. Place a strong flashlight or search light under the bottle. This will illuminate the bubbles for maximum effect. But don 't leave your bottle on top of a heated surface! Plastic will melt and you 'll get oil everywhere.
Creating a team out of individuals can be a challenging task for even the most seasoned human resources professional. Organizations necessarily promote both diversity (and thus individualism) and teamwork. What is an example of how diversity can affect teamwork from your own experience?
Pretend you are sitting in your car at a stop light. A car with tinted windows pulls up next to you. You can’t see the driver or any of the other people in the car. The car’s music is very loud and causes everyone around you to turn their heads. You start imagining who is in the car. You are probably thinking it’s some punk rock teenager. Right? (Bachman) Instead, walks out a mother and her two kids. You may think you don't prejudge people, but in reality, you do it without even thinking. “Right now, when we’re hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been and will always be our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States” (“Diversity Quotes”). Do you appreciate acting naturally or simply like everybody? We were made uniquely in contrast to everybody and given a one of a kind soul and body. I believe being diverse is a lovely thing since, we come in all shapes, structures, and hues. The world would be viewed as exhausting if everything was the same. " Being diverse isn't a terrible thing it implies you're overcome enough to act naturally." - obscure. Everybody being diverse is the thing that makes the world one of a kind
The way in which an organization tackles diversity determines its negative or positive outcome. All the 5 companies agreed that diversity has contributed to their success. Diversity contributes to more productivity but if not properly managed could hinder success.
Three affective outcomes of diversity would be “receiving, responding, and organization” (Wilson, 2017, p.2). By having this three affective diversity you will have the potential to grow as a team. Receiving means getting new information; Moreover, you need to be open-minded about the information giving to you. Furthermore, you need to consider what the new information is (Miller, 2017). Receiving also means to listen carefully to the information before you say anything. No matter how you feel about the information you need to be nice (Clark, 2015).

Two semesters ago I met a very strong woman, and she opened up a part of me that I had mostly given up on. The part of me I had given up on over a decade ago was my artistic side. I simply felt that it was a waste of time to spend hours perfecting something that would most likely never make me money. Also, I would look at the multitude of staving artists online, and consider how much better they were than myself, and how even the most talented artist starves from time to time. Have you ever heard the phrase “rent’s due art boy”. Well I got tired of hearing it, and went to drafting school. It wasn’t until this last semester, in my 19th century art history course, that I learned that most of my favorite artists started out as draftsmen, but we will talk about that later. Until recently, I had forgotten that i actually enjoyed the peacefulness of the artistic process. I had forgotten that during this process I tended to become very focussed and all of my life’s daily problems seemed to fade away.
Diversity in culture and demographic characteristics can be a negative impact or be one of the team's greatest strengths, depending on how the team as a whole functions and applies these different “routes to success”. A group can become a high performing team by understanding how cultural and demographic differences influence group behavior. The groups must realize that they can benefit from their diversity to their advantage and into a high performance team.
