Their husbands have become equals instead of being the man of the house and handling all of the decisions. Decisions are now being made by both men and women. In 1920 the 19th amendment was passed that allowed women to vote. There were three women that made a huge impact on getting this amendment passed. Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Lucy Stone fought to be protected by the 15th amendment stating that the right to vote can’t be determined by race, color or previous condition of servitude. Though they were not protected by the 15th amendment in 1920 that did happen about 50 years later. These three women made a start for women to become equal to men. It has been a long process but with the way women are now is because of women that fought for us years ago. Another large impact for woman was the workforce. While women had already been in the workforce by the time World War II happened the war made a large impact for women since most of the able bodied men were at war. Since the men were away at war they needed someone to handle the production lines. This was the time women were able to get into the workforce and show they could handle the same work as men could. There were women that viewed this as wrong but a lot of women step happy to show they are capable even though most of them ended up giving up their jobs once the men came back but it still left the knowledge that women could hold a job
