A Diverse workplace,in the last 30 years, become an important issue to emerge, and it’s effects this can have on a organisation. More and more research has gone into a diverse workplace and effects it can have on an organisation competitive advantage. Although having diverse workplace, brings about opportunities and threats, diversity is complex and careful planning needs to be taken for organisations to succeed. 3 factors which have lead to the diversity in workplace is 1) Australia’s multicultural society, 2) recognition of the benefits of having a diverse workplace and a competitive, and 3) The changing of attitudes in organisations about what is important for it to succeed and have a competitive advantage. I am very happy witht the progress that Vicky has made in her job so far. She has been with the Bureau about 8 months and she has become invaluable to us. I personally enjoy learning and collaborating with others. Its important to be able to work with others and make it work. It can be frustrating working with someone with no initiative and doesn't care about the task at hand. Learning how to deal with others is an important skill to have. I once had to work in a group with four other people. One of my classmates Brain was in charge of putting everything together and creating a power point. The power point was suppose to be emailed to everyone three days before it was due and no one received it. After several attempts to receive the power point I created it. I could have been upset and complained about doing extra work but that doesn't solve anything. My grade was way more important and

I currently work for a financial institution located in Wilmington, Delaware. This organization has being around since 1988 with a history of innovation, from a small bank division to now a fortune 500 company, I must say that I absolutely love; working for this company. I am always in high spirit to go to work in the morning; because my employer cares about me. My supervisor has an open door policy; I can stop by his office anytime without a schedule meeting. Also, He values my opinion, believes in me, and always looking for ways to help me accomplish both my personal and team goals. My job is home away from home, I fit perfectly in this organization and adapt well to its changes, and I always had some of their culture instilled in me, because I think independently, especially when collaborating with others and never timid to share my creative ideas with senior managers.

It means understanding the fact that every individual is special, and acknowledging the differences between people. These difference may be attributed to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious believes, political believes, or other philosophy. Diversity encompasses the analysis of these differences in a very safe, positive and supportive environment. The understanding between every individual should be looked beyond tolerating one another, it should be built on supporting and celebrating the immeasurable features of diversity that is found within everyone.
