Due to the advancement in technology and to the success rate of the use of drones, the Law enforcement is launching its use in their day to day activities.

In the beginning, scientists in Switzerland ponder about making a drone that can find lost hikers in hiking trails, going through the trails autonomously. Alessandro Giusti, leader of his team, are going to make this invention. According to Stevens, “In the United States alone, as many as 34 million hikers hit the trails each year. Some of those trekkers invariably get lost” (Stevens par. 2). This shows, multitudes of hikers get lost in the hiking trails every year. Hikers can become injured and need medical attention or support. Giusti and his team made this invention to make rescue missions easier, some can occupy up to 20 people at a time. This would be a good reason to make the drone.

Arthur, Bud, and Claudia were convicted of crimes through the use of a drone. This drone was originally dispatched by local police to assist them in their search for two missing 14-year-old hikers in the Santa Monica Mountains. The drone was fitted with a camera that relayed images it captured to the officer handling the drone. These images were also saved digitally. During the search for the missing hikers, the drone captured Arthur beating a female in his backyard while she tried to escape. After capturing this occurrence, the drone captured images of Bud’s vast backyard, which had copious amounts of marijuana plants growing. The drone also captured Claudia photographing naked children in and around a swimming pool. All three of these individuals had patrol cars dispatched to their homes and were arrested on the spot. Claudia was convicted of possessing, creating, and distributing child pornography. Bud was convicted of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell because of the large amount of plants on his property. Arthur was convicted of assault. In all three of their cases, the photographs captured by the drone were used as evidence to convict them of their crimes.
