English bulldogs are no longer a fit healthy dog, and people are now saying that there is no such thing as a healthy bulldog and their poor health and survival is a result from selective breeding. English bulldogs suffer from almost every possible disease. A 2004 survey by the Kennel Club found that these dogs die on average at an unfortunate age of 6.25 years. Over the years the English bulldog’s physical traits have been breed to the extreme. Their faces have become flatter, the legs have shortened, head is larger and the well-known under bite has grown as seen in Fig.1. Although these traits seem to look ‘cute’ or ‘desirable’ to humans it is having a massive effect on the dog. The shortness and shape of the English bulldog today means that
Brief History: The Boston Terrier, sometimes called the “American Gentleman” can trace its ancestry from the mating of a crossbred Bulldog/terrier called Judge, which was imported to the United States from the United Kingdom in 1865. In time the English and Staffordshire Bull Terrier were added to the mix through breeding.

Size: There are three sizes or varieties of Poodles: Standard, Miniature, and Toy. They are all the same breed. Toy Poodles are 10 inches tall or less at the shoulder, Miniatures are 15 inches or less, and Standards are 15 inches or taller.
They are athletic creatures and need to be trained as such. Dachshunds are among the most obedient dog breeds and when they are trained properly, they are able to merge their athletic ability and their obedience to become more competitive.

Origin (country) – The poodle breed has been known in Western Europe for at least 400 years. Some countries claim they are where the poodle originated but no one knows for sure its true country of origin. France took the claim of origin and that is why some people know them as French poodles. However, the AKC (American kennel club) states that Germany is the country of origin where the dog was used for water retrieval.

This breed’s origin is similar to the Irish Water Spaniel. His common ancestors are the French Barbet and the Hungarian Water Hound. Contrary to what many believe, this breed is not solely from the French origin. The Poodle actually originated in Germany as a water retriever, which accounts for his love for water. The word Poodle came from the German word “pudelnass” or puddle. This somewhat large and sturdy breed, which is the Standard Poodle, evolved the Miniature Poodle and the Toy Poodle. The Toy Poodle has been popular in England since Prince Rupert of the Rhine came to help Charles I in battle and brought along his Poodle. The dog won the affection of Marie Antoinette who many believe to be the one who invented the idea of the lion clip to match the uniform of her courtiers. Nowadays, the Toy Poodle is a very popular dog in the United
