Dog Observation

On 10/03/17, at approximately 7:35am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to the area of 5232 Freedom Ridge Drive on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw a pit bull (brown/white) matching the description of the dog running loose at the above listed address. I stopped my vehicle and proceeded to check the address where the dog was at. The pit bull was tied up at that location. At that moment a unknown female came outside and headed towards her car. I pulled up and asked if the pit bull belong to her. She stated that her son who resides at that location is holding the pit bull for a friend, but that the friend left without indicating what to do with the pit

One of the biggest dog busts of the century was in 2007. The man in charge’s name was Michael Vick, a quarterback football player in the NFL. Under the name “Bad Newz Kennels”, dogs were beaten, murdered, and gambled on. The dogs found alive were some of the most damaged possible. Missing parts of their jaws, lost eyesight, or non existent limbs, one would wonder why they kept going, striving for acceptance from their owner. These dogs, to the public seemed dangerous, after all they had killed their entire lives. However, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary was willing to take up the task of these gorgeous animals, ultimately saving their lives. The sanctuary took in 22 dogs, 10 of them, now adopted and living in homes of their own.Through rehabilitation the dogs were taught how to trust, interact and most importantly what love truly is with different trainers daily. Even the dogs who can not be adopted out are by any means not dangerous. Meryl, had been one of the dogs found who was deemed dangerous by the state, meaning she could not be adopted out to a home. Nonetheless, when walking into her kennel, dangerous is the last word you would use to describe her. One of her trainers remarks, "She really doesn't mind new people…. She's very happy and loving. As Rhode Island became more advanced it became the World’s Largest Slave Trade Center, at one point it was so bad that other colonies gave them a nickname “the sewer of New England”. But Rhode Island made there own nickname of “Rogues’ Island” and their founder (Roger Williams) was banned from Massachusetts beliefs.

If I could volunteer with any organization in the world, I would volunteer at the Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans, Louisiana because I would like to become an advocate for pitbulls, work with the dogs, and help parolees transition back into society. I heard about Villalobos when I found the show Pitbulls and Parolees on the Discovery channel. Immediately, I was intrigued by the show and Tia Torres’, the founder of Villalobos, mission for the rescue organization. After watching a few episodes, I conducted some research about the organization and it was then that I knew that I would love to be part of the volunteer base at Villalobos.

For millions of years dogs have remained a constant companion of man. Bred from the aggressive and formidable Gray Wolf tens of thousands of years ago the domestic dog now lives in many homes across the world. Where in the far distant past the domestic dog was bred as a guard animal, a beast of burden, and even a food source the dogs of today are bred for a far more endearing purpose-companionship and love. Finding a pet dog that is more of a joy than a chore is necessary when asking: How much is that puppy in the window?

The Curious incident of the dog in the night-time is a great novel, that gives a special perception of how an autistic boys views and interprets the world. By critical analyzing the story's theme, symbols, motifs, characters, and conflicts it gives a much more prevalent idea of the logical thinking and ideas of Christopher and his family. Also while reading the novel through a psychoanalytic theory, Christopher follows what seems to be the most logical actions to please his needs.

Dogs dramatically impact the lives of people in numerous aspects. Not only do they work for humans tirelessly, but they do it with a smile on their face and a wag in their tail, and they are non-judgmental towards people with disabilities. People utilized the help and companionship dogs provided even hundreds of years ago. However, many people see dogs as futile, considering training, money, time, and work that is put into owning a dog, let alone having it specifically trained to do a certain job. It is also risky putting so much time and effort into a dog, being aware that they are very capable of making mistakes just as humans are. The play observation that I have decided to focus on was animal play. When I observed play on animals I noticed similarities in both play in animals and humans. I recently observed dogs that were running around at a dog park in the city of Manhattan Beach at Live oak Park, which is primarily a Caucasian community as I begin to observe, I noticed that there were about ten dogs of all shapes and sizes. Some of the dogs I happened to see where primarily three different breeds an American Pit Bull, Siberian husky, and a German Sheppard.

The media portrayed Marilyn's lifestyle as the independent powerful successful woman. Her brief life was very busy she never really had time to step back and live her life. I believe she was exhausted of been such a public figure that everyone paid so much attention to her that she couldn't bare the pressure to me. She suffered depression, and at some point she got so frustrated with the way her life was leading and she couldn't reverse it and decided to take pills in excess to claim her own

This world is made up of so many secrets that each of us has. Sometimes we have some secrets that we don't share especially with our loved ones as we don't know how they will take it or if it will have an affect on them.Throughout the story, we are given hints to understand Christopher and his uniqueness. He knows all the countries of the world and their capitals, every prime number until seven-thousand, fifty-seven. He also hates the colors yellow and brown, that he won't even eat anything with those colors. He is described as being “unique” and very different from others.Christopher finds out some family secrets but what he finds out isn’t a secret because a secret isn’t a secret if it will affect someone else and a lie, isn’t a lie if no harm is being done.

So, now you have an arsenal of the most important tools to keep your dog from becoming aggressive and attacking other people and other dogs. Getting attacked by a dog is a really scary event because their bites can cause serious injuries or death. It is important to always protect yourself by carrying a dog repellent spray on your keychain for when an unexpected event happens.

Among the saddest truths about this lifetime is this: A dog’s life is significantly shorter than a human’s life. I said goodbye to my beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Samson, on March 26th, 2017. He was ten years old. It is an opinion to say that losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. The fact is, though, it is an understatement. Dogs are unique in their own ways. As it is said, “Grief is the price you pay for love.” And I paid a heavy priced that day.
