The Hidden Life of Dogs is about how dogs have feelings like us, they rank themselves, and they want to be together. Dogs really do have feelings. A dog named Violet missed her “boyfriend” Bingo when he went to get surgery. Violet decided to hide, “At bedtime she wouldn't come to bed but spent all night alone in the dark hall by the door, waiting for Bingo.” (Thomas 107). Violet does this because she cares about Bingo.
