Domestic violence occurs within intimite relationship and may include physical abuse, sexual abuse, mentally abuse and emotional abuse. Domestic violence can impact a family dramatically. It consists of efforts to sustain power and control over the other. Domestic violence is especially prevalent in America, and it can affect individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. Althought, it seems like emotional abuse and controling can be the main component of abuse there are many more deeply rooted patterns of dominance. Most of the time it causes physical injury, psychological trauma, and sadly even death. These consequences of abuse patterns can run in families and perhaps last a lifetime. Domestic abuse is a serious issue and it can be as serious as any other injuries such as car acciedents. It can be repetitive and get worst as time goes on. The physical effects can include: lacerations, bruises, broken bones, head injuries, internal bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, abdominal and gastrointestinal complaints, frequent vaginal and urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, and HIV. The abusers also refuse to provide medical and psychological treatment to their family memebers that they harmed. Even when the victims have moved on, the traumatic experiences still scarred them deeply which is call PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD are hurtful flashbacks, intrusive imagery, nightmares, anxiety, emotional numbing, insomnia, hyper-vigilance, and avoidance of traumatic triggers. Eventhough there is a stereotype of PTSD occuring within low income and it actually occur with people who has high income as well. PTSD is especially prevalent in another unlikely popultation,
