William de Conqueror `s DOMESDAY BOOK testifies Edward I `s prosecution quo warranto and records of feudal right, of the king and other nobility, and their writings. Doomsday book, with a resounding name and meaning given by natives, picturesquely denotes Last Judgement described in revelation, with image of Christ holding a book with scriptures and laws. It was required to write down all these peculiarities and occasions, similar as Doomsday survey of 1086, demanding to state their position in written form. As they noted, some replies came in Latin, but one reply was written in French and noted as ``the earliest piece of business French survived in England ``. The instruction in Inquest was issued in Latin, and none of the replies are in English, showing that it was not the language of records at that time. The extensive numbers and use of the clerks was evident doing translations in Latin, sometimes French. Anglo-Saxons kings had their own scribes in monasteries and abbacies in the countryside, whereas Henry I constructed a centralized bureaucracy of royal clerks at Westminster, differ in the same way in displaying their authority, first by traditional values, the letter dissolution of his authority in the numbers of royal writs with his orders. The proliferation of documents was gradually expanded, to barons 1200, to knights by 1250, and peasants by 1300. One interesting result of the proliferations of documents is the cursive form, called `court hand ` in its own time, and testifies of a ``common pressure of doing business``( p 129 clanchy). From the beginning of the 12th century, as a result of individual adaption of `a minuscule`` from the purpose of quickly writing, thus denoting shift from memory to written record with the difference from very early roman writings in Latin, in the middle Ages they separate individual words from each other. A peculiarity in the Middle Ages period writing is existing a bad writing, so we find many incompetently written
In many ways I am like Thelma Arnold of Lilburn, Georgia (pg. 59). The book states that Thelma had not realized that her search browser, AOL, had kept and released records of what she had searched. When her records along with others records, were released complete strangers were able to identify her and find where she lived by what she had searched. Another man’s records were released with Thelma’s and the reports showed that he had searched for things like how to kill his wife (pg. 60). I personally had no idea that there is a “big brother” out there watching what we search and look at on our electronic devices (pg. 48). Of course I had known that even the things we delete off the internet are never really deleted. Although, I feel that our

I have now entered the last week of the conclusion of my reading goal of Legend. During this week I have read the last pages, which are 260-305. Day has now started to dream about when he was younger. He dreamed about the time he and his and brother were playing street hockey with a paper ball and he accidentally threw a ball and hit a police officer in the face. The officer then beat Day really bad and didn’t stop until Day’s mom and John offered him their family’s savings, as well as taking the chicken that Day’s mom was preparing for dinner. John then scolded Day for looking at the officer defiantly, as he explained that this is why the police officer acted the way that he did. As time has passed Thomas invited June to a move, and June
The author’s purpose in writing The Eighth Day was to teach a lesson. Not everything comes to you as easy as you think. Throughout the book, the main character, Jax struggles to obtain his friendship with Evangeline. Jax is called a transitioner. That means that he has eight days in a week. Evangeline is what they call kin. In this book, kin means that she can only live 1 out of all 8 days. This is a struggle for Jax because, for everyone one of her days, he has seven more. Plus, Jax’s guardian, Riley, was trying to keep Jax away from Evangeline. Riley is her captor. He has trapped her in a house and is going to keep her there until she dies. Jax doesn’t realize this is for her own good, and he goes against Riley to get her out. Riley is
Michael Wigglesworth’s poem, “The Day of Doom” describes the ideals of Judgement Day; when at last, the Puritans would meet and be tried before God. This poem was arguably one of the most prevalent pieces of literature at the time of its release. Puritan principles regarding fearing God were recurrent in texts aimed toward people of all ages. A workbook known as The New England Primer, was geared towards teaching young readers not only about reading, but about the fundamentals of their faith. The New England Primer assists in explaining Michael Wigglesworth’s poem, “The Day of Doom,” through the concepts of original sin, depravity, providence, and absolute sovereignty.
My author is Lois Lowry, she was the middle child with an older sister, Helen and a younger brother, John. Lois father was a military officer and a dentist for the Army because of this they moved to a lot of different places which is the reason Lois was born in Hawaii. Lois family moved from Hawaii to New york where she began schooling, but the war began and her father was sent overseas to fight in the war. After her father's deployment Lois mother then moved them to her hometown of Carlisle in Pennsylvania where Lois grandparents lived. Lois finished elementary school there, but the summer following her sixth grade year they moved to Tokyo. Lois finished her seventh and eighth grade year in Tokyo. Lois finished high school in New York, but
"The earliest entries in this diary betray so little. Like the words of a schoolboy commanded to write what the teacher requires of him, they are wooden and stiff. The stamp of his father's character is so heavy on this language that I catch not even a breath of a self here." (Griffin 407-408)
During the Holocaust, many townspeople were aware of the events occurring within the concentration camps. In the book, Night by Elie Wiesel, the townspeople remained complacent with the Nazis. Some people even went as far as taunting the Jews when they were transported through towns. The Nazis during that time had a very strong influence and used fear to incite citizens to remain cooperative.
Writing history in the early Middle Ages "was not intended to be simply a matter of keeping a record for posterity." It was to help make the past more presentable and comprehensible to the present, "whether as support for

Similarities between the documents from the medieval times to the modern times have actually only evolved since then. Although the exact wording is not the same since our language has changed it all falls under the same category. When you go to a bank and take out a loan to buy a house it is the same concept. The payees sign their life away with a long contract and it goes in detail how you will pay it back and what the bank will earn by trusting you will pay on time. Nonetheless, witnesses will be there to verify that it was you and also to make sure there is no falsification and that you are how you say you are with the right kind of identification
A culture where valuable information was usually held in memory alone shifted to increasing use of written records in the high middle ages. This caused the change in language (i.e. languages of record and writing as opposed to spoken languages), the court system, government and administration. These changes in system had some limitations as writing was introduced as a recent technology in that period. The limitations to writing were such as it was a special skill set limited to certain group of people, preparing materials for writing was expensive and a challenging task, recoverability and accessibility of written records for authenticity was difficult, varieties of languages being used in the Middle ages made it difficult for learning, and the record from earlier times not being available made forgery attractive.
Deponia Doomsday is the fourth installment in German situated studio Daedalic Entertainment's Deponia series, which was originally envisioned as a trilogy. Deponia games are known for their humorous storylines, creative puzzle design, and their cast of colorful and bit out there characters. Deponia Doomsday manages to capture the essence of what made 90s era point-n-click games remarkable, and infuse modern design sensibilities simultaneously.
