Doon was standing at the front of the hotel and heard a loud sound. The sound was caused by Clar stepping on a pile of garbage covered with leaves. Everyone in the hotel knew it was Sparks, who left those garbage at the front of the hotel and they were mad about. The Sparks for the third time had put poison oak on the Ember people. So the Ember people got mad and they stole the Sparks things before they went back to the hotel for a
Scared that the kids would discover the oil scam. Jimmy set a controlled burn, to scare away the kids. Now more bad news came for the RDEC the fire investigator found out that it was a arson, and that they found a RDEC pen near the arson. “ oh I must have drop it from my helicopter when I was shooting pictures” he lied. He then he went to the Scrods junk house and grab anything of the boys to place near the arson. Someone tried to kill there oxen but Mr. Eddie stopped him and none of the oxen were seriously hurt. The Donners and one of Mrs. Wolfinger’s wagons fell a day behind. Embers flew from the campfire, and into the starry night sky; meanwhile, the campers, Jackie, Carl, and Jim, sat close to it for warmth. “Now who's ready for a campfire story?” said Jackie. “You can sometimes go a little overboard, so Carl is taking the wheel.” Carl continued, “Once upon a time” Jim screams, and Carl rolls his eyes at Jim, “May I proceed,” He responds rhetorically. By the time Carl finishes the scary story, Jim has already dashed into the tent, startling his dog, a basset hound named Roxy. Carl along with Jackie look at each other in regretful worry, as they walk towards Jim's tent.
About an hour and a half passed when he saw that he was heading toward a familiar supply store. It was the first sign that he was getting closer to his uncle’s houes. He quickened his step and finally was about 5 yards away when he heard an angry shout come from the closed front door of the store.
It was getting later and later, and they were still in there “ What was that ” Diego asked Vanessa, but as he got no response he turned around, and Vanessa was nowhere to be spotted. “ Where is she!” asked Cesar “ I don’t know,” responded Diego, so they turned back heading the way they had came from looking for Vanessa, but she was nowhere to be found. As they kept walking, they could hear a dripping sound and every time they walked more and more it would get louder and louder. So they followed the noise, and as they did, they got terrified, and they started to tremble. So they stopped and sat in some old scourge dirty chairs that were thrown on the ground so they can calm down from the haunt that was happening, as they were sitting down they can smell an earthy, metallic smell all over. “ Cesar what is that behind you it looks strange,” questioned Diego and as Cesar turned to see what it was, it was a gory cadaver, so they ran out till where they had come in from forgetting about Vanessa and trying to ignore what they had seen. Cesar and Diego just continued to run for their life until they got to Diego house
The books I chose to read for my dear book were the first three books of The Doon Tetralogy. Veronica has several visions about a magical land. She perceives that something is going to happen and she begins to try and change her destiny. The book “Doon” typifies the idea everything does not happen the way you want or think it will happen as seen by Veronica always assuming that she is right about something , Jamie not inheriting the throne even though he is next in line, and Mckenna not fulfilling her acting dreams in the way she thought she would or never being right about what should happen to Veronica.

Nathaniel sat on his horse beside the local ironmonger's shop. There wasn't a light on in the whole street, but he would see it coming. Most had decided to make it an early night but some, those who also knew of its route, were peering out from windows. Constantly parting gaps in the curtains, where several faces gawked. The elderly, curious children. Families peering out as though they knew something awful, yet sickeningly festive, to their community was on the verge of passing their properties. Everyone was waiting for it and they knew of Nathaniel's intentions of trapping, hopefully killing, the mischievous being. Not everybody was happy to
Marlee watched as the first visitor approached the door from the upstairs window. He was sitting upstairs cooking shrimp in a pot of oil. He was kind of confused to see a crazed person approach the abandon house at 9 p.m. This visitor looked old and weary. It was an old lady who was carrying a purse, while she was walking up to the house she took out a key like she lived there. Marlee was so scared he thought he was in the wrong house. He quickly called Max and told him to get over to the house right away! The old lady walked inside and started to walk up the stairs. She soon opens the creaky door who reveals frightened Marlee sitting in a boxy chair in the corner. Thats when she started screaming at the top of her lungs, her head was turning red like a cherry, it looked like her head was going to explode. Marlee took off running.

After work one night, Homer's mom told him that Miss Reilly was sick. When he went to visit her, she told him that he didn't belong in the mine and that he needed to stick to his dreams. That night he opened the book she gave him and started to work on the math and where the rocket went when the police said that it started the fire. He calculated that he didn't start the fire.
Two unidentified people come and burn down the safe house. Abe needs to find out who killed Joyce before Anna gets arrested. When they pulled Captain Joyce out of the barrel filled with water, I noticed that Abe and his father started gagging. This tells me that the body smells really bad. I saw that the village had a little party with a huge fire and they had straw stuffed men that had masks on them. They threw them in the fire, so this shows me that they were making fun of those two people and show them that burning down the safe house wasn’t a big deal. At the end Abe and the servant started discussing what was going on with the murder of
This poem consists of two stanzas, with a large amount of representations and viewpoints. The two types of views used for this poem used pretty evenly throughout are first and third person. Poe does an appreciable job of using visual imagery and some great representation. He shows that the sand that's slipping through his fingers is similar to an hourglass with the sand constantly falling and time just continues passing no matter what's going on in the world. Through his words, he does a tremendous job connecting the first and third person stanza which ultimately feel like two completely different moods, but he still makes them feel entirely connected throughout his
Texas A&M is considered to have high female numbers compared to most universities. However, less than half of those females who enter an engineering major will graduate with a degree in engineering (“Retention”). According to a study completed by Project on Women’s Engineering Retention, or POWER, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, twenty percent of engineering graduates are female, yet only eleven percent of practicing engineers are female. There are a plethora of reasons women claim for leaving the engineering field. However, redefining the engineering field and educating those in the field can solve most of the problems women cite in the engineering field. The POWER study researched the reasons women claimed caused them to leave the engineering field and any potential improvements to help retain strong gender ratios in the workplace.
In today’s growing society, smoking is still a major problem among many humans. A lot of teens and young adults are revealed to the effects of smoking through the exposure of secondhand smoke. The presence of secondhand smoke can be encountered through family members, friends, and even people in the surrounding area. Since smoking is so accessible, anyone is able to obtain a cigarette. The result of smoking, however, presents undesirable outcomes. As an example, cancer, lung disease, a change in lifestyle and personality, or impacted decisions. Similarly, the advertisement campaign “Stay In Control” by The Real Cost introduces us to Amanda Green - a teenage girl who finally has the independence to define who she is. However, before she can, Amanda gives up part of her freedom to smoking. The losses of freedom to smoking includes everything from her life, her money, her boundaries, etc. Through the use of vivid imagery, voiceover, and sad emotions, the ad “Stay In Control” effectively conveys a message about the harmful effects of smoking to its intended audience: teens and young adults.
