Double Suicide In Romeo And Juliet

Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play written by William Shakespeare. “Hatred and violence breed only tragedy”, is a major theme in this play. The Montague and Capulet are two rival families. They were involved in a family feud that goes back years before anyone can remember. However, the grudge still continues, due to the fact that both families are not ready to forgive and forget the past. The families’ ongoing quarrels and feud, lead to the deaths of several characters including the star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.

This play is about a boy named Romeo and girl named Juliet. Their family are mortal enemies so that means that they are always fighting with one another. At a Capulet party Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time not knowing who each other are, until later that night that they are enemies. They begin to fall in love with each other and get married after meeting for one night. Then the drama gets to their head and they kill themselves. In Romeo and Juliet Capulet’s and Montague’s, Friar Lawrence, and Balthasar are responsible for the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

The play ‘Romeo and Juliet' is about two families who have been fighting for years. When Romeo falls in love with Juliet and Juliet falls in love with Romeo, there are many consequences, including the deaths of a member of each family – Mercutio and Tybalt.

The ending of Shakespeare’s famous play Romeo & Juliet, is devastating yet expected, as the “pair of star-cross’d lovers” (Prologue.9) dramatically kill themselves, leaving their friends and family in pure shock and sadness. In the play, the situations leading up to this dreadful incident should be blamed on the lovers themselves, as well as their secrecy with the absurd relationship that was caused by the couple’s family feud which definitely takes the blame for the double suicide. Only days after the wedding Romeo is banished from Verona for the murder of Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, and only days after that Romeo and Juliet take their own lives. Romeo did first believing Juliet had died, however, she was only in a death-like sleep. She woke up and saw her beloved Romeo dead and stabbed herself with his dagger. Although they chose to take their own lives I believe Romeo’s friend Mercutio is most to blame for the two lovers deaths.

In Romeo and Juliet, the Capulets and the Montagues have a rivalry, a death penalty placed by the prince is threatened if the families have another brawl. At a Capulet party, Romeo and his friend, Mercutio sneak in, and he meets Juliet. They fall in love, and become married in secret, but Juliet is forced by her father to marry Paris after Romeo killed Tybalt, who is Juliets cousin. To avoid marrying Paris, Juliet fakes her death and Romeo thinks Juliet is honestly dead. He goes to her tomb and drink a potion that killed him almost instantly.When Juliet wakes up, she actually kills herself over the grief over Romeo being dead. In William Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet”, Friar Lawrence is ultimately to blame for the deaths of the protagonists, by cause of Friar encouraged them to secure their love, he neglected to inform both parties if his plan to fake Juliet’s death, and he left Juliet when she was extremely emotional.

The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is written by William Shakespeare. In this classic tale, two young teenagers fall into a forbidden love. In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, people often wonder how things could have gone so wrong for the "two star-crossed." As the story unfolds, it is clear that many characters play a vital role in the events that ultimately lead to the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The characters ultimately to blame are Romeo, Juliet, The Nurse, Friar, and the families.

Juliet’s father forces Juliet to marry Paris, and if she does not he threatens to leave her to ‘hang, beg, starve, die in the streets’. This arranged marriage with one she does not love compels Juliet to find an urgent resolution, and this resolution contributes to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The families’ feud contributes to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, as they know that their relationship must remain unknown. The feud leads to delusion and deceit, and their eventual death. Ultimately, the feud between the families makes their deception necessary and inevitable; but this deception leads to their untimely deaths.
