Sure, it seems like a cute movie. But the meaning behind it is more complicated. Certainly, sometimes situations change permanently, and the ability to adapt is important to one's survival. But not all changes are permanent, and not all changes should be mindlessly accepted.
There's some important background to know about this movie. The book it's based upon is commonly given by management teams to employees to imply that they should shut up and accept the changes being imposed upon them - and not always for the better.
This book and movie are great for those who are happy to accept change from above without thinking critically about it. But for the rest of us - what then? Dr. Johnson purposely never answers the question in the title,
