Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: Keeping The Dream Alive

Martin Luther King was a honourable leader during his time he was famous for his speech “ I had a dream’ In this speech he calls for an end to racism in the United States and preaches his vision of a society in which race was not an issue in how people were treated or in how they were allowed to live their lives. Because of this speech the Negros respected him. He said this speech in front of millions who came to listen and for that he is a very brave man.

Martin Luther King, Jr., was a very strong person, constantly fighting for what he believed in, which was equality for African Americans. He was not scared to stand up and tell the world what he wanted for society. He was fearless and did everything in his power to prove a point. Martin Luther King, Jr., was the strongest individual of his time, for he fought until death, which proves how much he was willing to risk his life to make the world an equal place.

Dr. King’s approach to ending racial inequality was much like Gandhi’s impact in his country. Dr. King believed that “tension” was a necessary factor for growing. He states that as long as it was “constructive, and nonviolent” good outcomes would come out of it. Gandhi in a way had the same idea. One of the strongest traits Dr. King had for himself was his lack of fear.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a man of great honor who defended the rights of all. He was an activist, a beam of hope and most importantly an inspiration to all. Today he continues to serve as an inspiration and a model to stand up for what we believe in. Dr. King has impacted my life in many ways. Most importantly I have learned from him that I must fight for what I believe in and that there will be sacrifices to make on the way but they will be worth it in the end.

As most people have already known that Dr. Martin Luther King was a great leader during the Civil Rights Movement. He brought many courage to the African American people to gain more Equal Rights and to fight in a non-violence way. During the Civil Rights Movement people began to protest for their equality, including himself, But it has taken many years just so African Americans can get the equal rights they have deserved. Many people still this day still look up after him, and they are encouraged by his words and his victory on Civil Rights.

At a young age he was taught that god created all persons of equal worth and that everyone should be treated with dignity and with respect. He saw injustice and segregation at a young age, later in life Martin Luther King Jr. sought for the equality and human rights for all Americans.

If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be as united as we are now. There is less hatred and tension than there was in the past, and people of all races and ethnicity can be in the same place, school, restaurant, etc. It continues to impact me personally because it gives me hope that someday someone will continue to carry on his legacy so that we will never face another day of discrimination again. It also gives me strength and courage to be able to speak out when I feel it is needed. Dr. King is a hero who sacrificed it all for us. His powerful words changed me because they make me believe. They make me believe the things that seem impossible are possible. It gives me the courage when i feel discouraged, and make me want to keep going even when I feel defeated. I believe that's the kind of effect Dr. King has on not only me, but the rest of all Americans in the nation. His words give me pride. Because of who he is, I feel the possibilities for my own. Dr. King's impaction matters because if it had not been for his courageous behavior and character, we would be subject to accepting the violence and discrimination. We wouldn't be together as a

I loved this statement that he made “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” King seen a lot of hateful things in his life, he decided to respond with love and peace though. Dr. King definitely showed this trait just because he was literally willing to die for the cause. Martin Luther King had some guts because when him and 36 other people were doing a segregated counter serving restaurant protest, they were all arrested. Atlanta’s mayor released some of the charges, but King still had to go through some jail time. He was arrested a total of 30 times throughout his dangerous life of upholding racial equality (thekingcenterfaqs.com). Martin’s house was also attacked during the Montgomery bus boycott. There were many death threats and terrible letters sent to him and his family (biography.com). Dr. King though knew that it may be scary trying to keep the Civil Rights Movement going, but it will be worth it.
