Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have A Dream Speech

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an astonishing activist that inspired a numerous amount of people with his speech. Dr. King was great because he displayed some traits. Some of the traits that he possessed were leadership, determination, and bravery. He was a man that preached about justice and wanted peace. Everyone can make a change and keep the dream alive by doing what Dr. King wanted. Which was to allow freedom to ring and to all come together as one.

Martin Luther King was a honourable leader during his time he was famous for his speech “ I had a dream’ In this speech he calls for an end to racism in the United States and preaches his vision of a society in which race was not an issue in how people were treated or in how they were allowed to live their lives. Because of this speech the Negros respected him. He said this speech in front of millions who came to listen and for that he is a very brave man.

Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the most famous civil rights activists in the history of the United States. He gave several important speeches and promoted non-violent protests. His most famous speech was “I Have A Dream”, around a quarter of a million patrons, black and white, attended this empowering speech at the March on Washington on August 28, 1963. The reason his speech was vastly successful in the movement against segregation and injustice was because of its repetitiveness.

Martin Luther King Jr, a black man living in a terrible community, thought to speak out against the hatred for blacks. His views on equality were unacceptable, so he thought to speak out to change the community’s outlook. Ordinarily, black citizens were slumped down and just accepted the criticism and hatred, but he had this idea of everyone being the same. He was greatly motivated by many great people such as Gandhi, Lincoln, and many other well-known males. King played a tremendous role in the civil rights movement. He was a great leader who inspired many people, during and after his lifetime. A huge role model for many people to this very day, and generations to come. He was an inspiration and role model because he used nonviolence to fight for equal rights, he never stopped fighting for what he believed in, and because he was a voice that convinced people that “all men are created equal.”

After reading the biography of Dr. Martin Luther King, the writer feels that he was destined to change the world. The marches he participated in made a huge difference in how Americans feel about segregation/integration of civil rights. Martin Luther King Jr. is the peaceful template that every protestor should follow. Dr. King has personally inspired me to stand up for my beliefs, no matter the threats or disadvantages. The picture that speaks to me is Dr. King photographed in prison after a peaceful protest. Seeing this civil rights hero in jail truly awakened me. The photo tells me that in order to enjoy the justified freedom, you must suffer the ramification first. Martin Luther King also encouraged people not to quit, even when all hope is lost. Instead, continue fighting with the power of knowledge and strength instead of ferocity. By obeying the law, Dr. King changed equality and the perception of the African American race forever. Martin Luther King Jr. is remembered as one of the greatest leaders of modern humanity. Perhaps the most astonishing aspect of his leadership was his ability to adapt to whatever leadership style was necessary for any specific scenario. He could be a transformational leader if people needed to be mobilized, a servant leader when followers needed to be led by example, or a charismatic leader when he gave any one of his plethora of monumental speeches. Not only could MLK perform in each of these leadership roles, but he excelled at them. Dr. King was one of the greatest, most versatile leaders ever. We will discuss why in the following paragraphs.

Many people think that Martin Luther King, Jr. is a great warrior because no one stood up against the government, but he stood up against oppression against his race. Even when, threatened he kept fighting : “On September 30, 1956, Martin Luther King, Jr.’s house was bombed by segregationists in retaliation for the success of the Montgomery Bus Boycott”. He didn’t run when he got attacked; He tried to save everyone. For example, when he experienced terrorism by a bad squad, he didn’t run away. I might be very scared, but Martin Luther King, Jr. didn’t run away and he tried to protect people from terror. Martin Luther King, Jr. knew many people thought oppression against race has to be changed : “ When he was a young man, Martin Luther King wanted a career helping people. He felt that as a minister, he could speak out “against racial injustice”. Following the example of the Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. King chose nonviolence as the keystone of his fight for civil rights”.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. changed the lives of many African American citizens with his empowering speech about the equality of mankind and the desecration of man itself. Standing in front of 250,000 people on the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963, King declaimed his views on equality and changed America in ways most leaders wish they could. The great and inspiring civil rights leader played a pivotal role in ending the segregation between African American men and women with his rhetorical language, leaving a great impact on America today. Through his wide range of ethos, pathos, and logos, as well as tropes, appeals, and scheme techniques, he influenced Americans to believe that all men, black or white, are created equal.
