Dr. Martian Luther King Jr. was an inspiring man and an eloquent speaker, he recited many speeches, but many of his speeches had one meaning. Standing up for others. When Dr. King would speak, his speeches would make an impact on the listeners around the globe. Dr. King is most famous for his “I Have a Dream” speech, but he had other speeches, and they all made an impact on societal problems. Dr. King did not approve of violence, so he started the nonviolent movement against racism and segregation. His speeches were influencing people around the globe but some of the quotes from his speeches have an even bigger impact. Dr. Martian Luther King Jr. had many speeches; therefore there are many inspiring quotes from those speeches. A quote from one of Dr. King’s numerous speeches is “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” This quote has many meanings but the main meaning is, when you stop standing up for what is right our lives will get worse and worse. This quote alone has impacted lives in such a way that only words can. This told people to stand up for what is right not to sit and stare at what is going on around them. This told them to do something about the problems that many people already faced, and not to worry about how it affected them. Martian Luther King Jr. didn’t have only one speech; therefore he had many more quotes that had huge impacts on society. Another quote that has greatly affected the globe as a whole is “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is ‘What are you doing for others?’” This quote has one main meaning which is what is one doing for those who need one’s help? People pondered this question for a while and eventually asked what are we doing to help those people in need? How can we help them have freedom? Since people asked themselves questions on how they could help, they took action and helped with the nonviolent
