Dragons Myths

In the satirical novel, “Dealing with Dragons”, written by Patricia C. Wrede it focuses on how Cimorene went against her expected routine as a Medieval princess. Cimorene was justified in ignoring the acquired social norms of the Medieval Society because, she could be independent in her own life without limits, there were endless opportunities for her, and she wouldn’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations.

As humans, we all possess great qualities. We develop memories that we can cherish forever. Hopes and dreams help us strive to do great things. However, we all have our demons that we all tend to conceal. The famous poem “Beowulf” is renowned for the battles against Beowulf and many monsters. The battles in the poem pose as metaphorical battles. Beowulf defeating the monsters represent him trying to overcome his demons. The last battle was between him and a dragon. To the reader’s surprise, he lost the battle. The dragon represents Beowulf’s greatest demon. Despite the dragons that Beowulf faced that are external, my dragons are more internal.

They were used to represent emperors and were the main decorative patterns to be seen on different imperial structures. Dragons and the phoenix symbolises status, authorities, treasure and emperor or the empress.

Myths, which are reading literature that is imaginative, teach truths that may not always have a basis for historical fact. Myths, which communicate ideas in story form, are creative stories that explain and teach religious truths of sin and consequence.

A simple definition of a myth is a story handed down through history, often through oral tradition, that explains or gives value to the unknown. Myths are composed of stories or explanations. Myths are not always false sometimes they have some truth to them. They come to being by people making an assumption about a person based on their race.

Wrede portrays Cimorene, an extraordinary princess of Linderwall who doesn’t want to be under supervision, as a princess that does not think that the requirements of being a princess apply to her. Cimorene leaves the castle to go live with the dragons of the Mountains of Morning. Cimorene was not justified because if she marries Therandil Linderwall will become a prosperous kingdom. Also, It is apart of Cimorene’s heritage to become a Queen. Finally if all her family members were to die, there will be no royal blood would rule the kingdom. However, in the eyes of others, Cimorene is justified in leaving

As the Anglo-Saxons slowly converted into Christianity, there has been many ministerial qualities that each monster in Beowulf represents. The dragon, the most symbolic of three monsters, conveys three out of the seven deadly sins. It represents wrath, greed, and pride due to its selfish nature in hoarding all the treasure in which it takes a satisfaction to. The dragon was the most symbolic foe that Beowulf faced.

One thing about Chinese dragons is that they even hosted some type of race that honor the dragons called the dragon race(legend of the Chinese dragons). Unlike the Chinese or the Japanese dragon the Korean dragon will be a little aggressive, but it is still wise and promotes its land and all the dragons in Asia bring good luck according to the people who have been living there.As the dragons move north or east, they will lose a claw and if they move south or west, they will add a new claw to them self. One thing about these dragons is that some can be aggressive and people should have respect for the water dragons because they can destroy anything that will threaten them. In Asia people draw dragons as art and some of the dragon art represent something about them. If someone as a dragon tattoo, they should not mess with them because they will just cause trouble and they are not easy going people. Also the Chinese dragons are associated with the yin and the yang because every sixty years there will be a different type of dragon to celebrate with the Chinese new year(9 Things You Didn’t Know about Chinese Dragons). Also the dragon became the most powerful symbol in the world because the dragon brings good luck and people used to draw of dragon in their flag or coat of arms. According to (The Dragon in Ancient China) chinese, japanese, and Korean art’s drawing of dragons and statue of dragon will them so they can have a good luck charm. Finally in Asia the dragon has some type of special race in china because they want to honor them and they will also have statues or a drawing of dragon as a good luck

When this word “myth” is used, the term is usually related to a fable, invention or a fiction story. Over the years, many scholars started approaching the study of myth differently. These scholars have approach myths in a way their meaning was traditionally regarded. In many traditions these myth are true stories and never refer to as false stories.
