There are few things that can ruin a trip faster than having your car break down. I began to take my steps toward the blocks set up in lane four, I clinched the baton in my hand anxiously. The official spoke the words “On your mark.”. I plan to start truck driving after high school. Why I would choose this career is because I can see all of the United States and meet new people and I’ve always liked tractor and trailers. I just love how I can be by myself all day long with no one bother me while I drive down the road. I can be my own boss in the cab of the truck and I can sleep whenever I want to. The only bad thing driving truck is that you have a higher rollover and accident.

During day 2 I became very knowledgeable about the ADDIE model and I found it immensely important that I adapt it to my lesson plans to help gain elements of effective training methods. I also found the MUD model by Sylvia Downs, Memorise, Understand and Doing interesting and found myself questioning my learning methods as to which way I would approach a module and which order I would place these.

I also learnt when working in a group you cannot rely on other people, and it is best if you all have a copy of the footage so if someone is away you can still carry on and work. In addition, i found that communication with in your group and with the client is essential, as we lacked a lot of this and it did affect us. I also learnt a lot of editing skills along the was such a adjusting the contrast and brightness which were new to me. I also learnt about synchronizing all the audio up, which was quite difficult at some points, as we did not always have the lips to synchronize it up to. The video turned out good in the end it was slightly different as planned but our clients were pleased with the outcome and were happy to work with us. On March 30, 2018, a call was dispatched about a possible drunk driver traveling eastbound on Highway 90, passing Highway 57. The reporting party described the vehicle as an older model Dodge truck faded red in color.

This was a particularly instructive task for us the teachers as the learner is suddenly on his/her own rather than in a group as they had been in the normal workshop sessions. As the teacher we had few surprises with the performance of the learners but there were one or two early on. These were mainly because it was possible during the workshop sessions to take a back seat and let your group do most of the work. Because of this they were unsure when it came to their assessment which is only to be expected.

On 06/15/17 I was contacted via telephone by Deputy Kenneth Hollis in reference to an accident involving county vehicles which occurred at the Northeast District Office at 4323 Roundtop Drive. I responded to the area and found that Deputy Hollis had backed his patrol unit into Deputy Blocker’s patrol unit.

Planning- I think that the planning of this lesson went pretty smoothly. I had a strong idea of what I wanted to do going into planning the lesson. Therefore, writing the lesson was pretty easy. Creating the materials for the lesson was more time consuming that initially thought it would be. But, the time spent I think paid off in the end result of the lesson.
