There are at least three issues that are overlooked national issues that are affecting colleges campuses across the country, and they are contributing to the leading causes of drop –outs for college students in the US. Yet not enough pantents and students are talking about it: personal insecurities, family issues and job demands affect students’ performance among college students and young adults. These three simple little things can cause your life to trun upside down in a flash. Unfortunately, the past few years have witnessed high levels of emotional dependency, anxiety, and depression among American college among my college peers. Personal insecurities is a big cause of many of those reason just giving to you. Overcontrolling parents would be one of the emotional dependency in this case. Loving their children and wanting to protect them from what they see as an increasingly dangerous world. So they desperately groom them for success, shielding their children from failure while pressuring them to excel, doing their homework, making their decisions, and nit-picking their lives. Yet these parents may not be know they are depriving their children of vital brain development, incapacitating their ability to think for themselves and develop the very cognitive skills they need to …show more content…

It can cause depression and anxiety, even lowering g.p.a and grades for graduation. One student could be having anxiety attacks because he or she cant find a job to pay rent after coming back home for summer break, making them homeless and move back home. Another college student could be just plain depression because of how much of a work load they were given, causing them to lose friends, relationship and even Schorlarships.
