Dropout Age Of 18

Students that drop out of school before the age of 18 “have a higher likelihood of ending up in jail or on public assistance.” Quoted from the Radio Interview, “Paul Moran talks with Missy Remiss” This is one of the many reason why students should be required to stay in school until the age of 18.

To begin with, President Obama is trying to push states to raise their school’s dropout age. Raising the dropout age doesn’t stop all students from dropping out but it has a positive effect. “What it does is it sets the moral imperative so that students, parents, and educators become committed to the idea that each student will in fact graduate.” According to Paul Leather, the New Hampshire Deputy Commissioner of Education, stated in, “President
