More interestingly, the drug cartels are only paying bribery to a politician. In fact, they are also paying bribery to a policeman. Many policeman in Latin America were reported as accepting bribery from the drug cartels. In fact, Mexican authorities said that the drug trafficking gangs pay around $100 million a month to a police officers nationwide, “Mexican authorities said at a forum that drug trafficking gangs pay around 1.27 billion pesos (some $100 million) a month in bribes to municipal police officers nationwide” (Web 2015). If I have a chance to be a policy advisor to the Mexican president, I would like to focus in two main categories; law enforcement regarding crime-violence and drug trafficking, and corruptions (reform justice
Mexican drug cartels have been expanding its portfolios to include doing business in sex trafficking. The Zetas are the most feared drug cartel in Mexico’s drug, sex trafficking trade, and etc.; the Zetas are a criminal army made up of defectors from the Mexican military. Anybody who crosses them will more than likely get their heads chopped off or won’t live to see another day.
"A businessman, and a business woman sit across from each other in negotiations. The man proposes four thousand pesos, and the woman says she can't afford that much. She counter-offers with twenty-five hundred pesos. The man agrees and leaves. This was a weekly payment for the protection of the woman's local business against the Juarez Cartel." (Lacey, M. 2010).
The Latin Kings, originally known as The Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation, is one of the largest and organized Hispanic street gangs in the U.S. This gang was said to have been started during the 1920’s under a different name in Chicago, Illinois but we officially discovered in the 1960’s. Their main desire was to protect their neighborhood while maintaining to preserve the identity of their culture. They had five points of respect which were, “Respect your brothers ny your crown and your nation. Mark by truth. Your word is your crown your crown is your nation, a king must live by this word. The condition of being united into a single whole, one for all, all for one. The knowing of lessons
Certain neighborhoods in Central America are under the control of various gangs. The women and children are live in a constant state of panic. Women especially fear that they will be attacked. If anyone angers the gang or doesn't pay whatever said gang says that they have to pay to live there they or their children are under threat to be attacked.
I'm from a country where is relative normal hear this kind of news, but Salvadoreans gangs got other reasons to this kind of stuff. Salvadoreans gangs many times have been supported by government opposition to attack government programs, but this is not El Salvador. This is America. We cannot say that gangs have declared "100 days, 100 nights" because they have been supporting or encourage by the government opposition, here is happening something else.
The topic I chose to write about is Central American Gangs. Most of these gangs or problems that we face with these gangs come from the Northern Triangle. The Northern Triangle is made up of three countries, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Guatemala and Honduras currently being the most dangerous out of the three. Many Countries have tried to intervene or help these countries but attempts have proven to be of little use or no help.
In the last decades, narco trafficking and organized crime had emerged as the main security threats in Latin America. Deviant globalization increase their power by establishing connections with similar organizations in other parts of the world, like cocaine distribution networks, for example. This perceived danger increases the pressure on the governments for effective solutions, and some of them consider that these problems had overwhelmed the capabilities of the local police. Consequently, the intervention of military forces would be necessary to secure the stability of the countries. However, the use of force as the only solution is the outcome of a misunderstanding of the root causes that generates them. This paper presents the research for a general pattern in the region that is helpful to understand how the civil society perceives the failures of governance and how the networks of illegal activities exploit this perception.
From the beginning of Pena Nieto’s presidency, Mexican citizens were lied to with promises of a better future, safer communities and an anti-corruption camping. In the first two years of Peña Nieto position as president of Mexico, he pressed through firm improvements in “energy and telecommunications, financial sectors and education, designed to unleash investment, boost competition and power growth (Webber).” But first let’s see read more on Pena Nieto became president and his political background. Enrique Peña Nieto had been involved in public service from an early age. He engaged into more than a few political positions within the administration for the State of Mexico. Between the years of 2000 to 2002, Nieto was the secretary of administration. Thereafter from 2003 to 2004, he was designated as a representative of the 13th district in the 65th Session of the State of Mexico. Later on in the year of 2005,
When we think in terms of how the Latin American Narco groups can affect us here in the United States we only have to look as far as any neighborhood where the products they sell are smuggled into and distributed. The groups have for many years been fighting to gain control and power over the different regions of Mexico which is a principal player in the road a product takes to get to the United States. Once in a not so distant past Mexico was a more peaceful place where the cartels knew what their limits were and stayed under the firmer hand of the Mexican government that was in power. From December 1, 2006, through the first half of 2011, some 45,000 men, women, and children lost their lives at the hands of a dozen drug trafficking syndicates

The Mexican Mafia, or “La Eme”, as they refer to themselves, is one of the most powerful and influential organized crime gangs in the United States. The organization has risen through the decades of mass gang wars and violence to become the power it is today. Their control is limitless and they have ventured far beyond the expectations of what was thought that gangs were capable of. They have infiltrated governments and manipulated politics. They have taken over neighborhoods and attempted to ethnically cleanse them. Innocent people have become caught up in the affairs of La Eme throughout its history and many have faced violence and death at their hands. This paper is a continual of the case analysis of the Mexican Mafia and will attempt to provide explanations for some of the crimes committed by this organization. Researching gangs and organized crime is important because of their large influence and control over many aspects of daily life. The significance of attempting to provide causations of their crimes can better provide the criminal justice system a clearer understanding of problems that lead to gang members committing crimes on behalf of the organization. A clearer understanding of problems can help the system to provide solutions to combat situations that inhibit crimes.
When we heard slave we think of the past but now it is turning to a bad situations that involve children and adolescences in majority. Coming from Latin American and Caribbean through all the world. There are thousands of victims that are getting force into human trafficking. I will give each country’s legal tradition and their major influences on crime definition, rate, and measurement. In this assignment I will analyze the extent to which crime statistics collected in different nations can adequately be compared.
Drug trafficking is a major issue in Colombia, causing many other issues across the country. Many people involved in the drug trade including civilians are being killed, kidnapped, and injured over this problem. Over the years, the government has started cracking down on the growers, producers, and sellers but so far, they have only caught minor criminals. The government is making agreements with neighboring countries and finding alternative uses for the crops to slow down the production of drugs. Despite all of the efforts being made to stop drug trafficking, violence, and production the cartels are still thriving throughout Colombia.
What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear of the region Latin America? Poverty, violence, drugs? Latin America is a major region where drugs are generated, imported, and exported. The general stereotype with regards to Latin America is that the region is drug infested due to the history of use, the problems regarding drug trafficking, and the continued statistics proving the ongoing use of drugs. Despite the fact that not every country in Latin America fits in this mold, history and data supports this impression.
