Drug Wars : The United States

Drug Wars. When people hear the term “Drug Wars” they think that the cause of all the Drugs and Violence flowing through into the United States, is all Mexico’s fault, that Mexico is the cause of so many deaths and a War that the United States thinks it’s “Winning”, but they are not even making a little dent. Interestingly enough, Mexico is not the only cause of this War going on around the Border, The United States plays a big role around the Drug Wars as well.


The United States has been having ties with some of the Mexican Drug Cartels for valuable and classified information to lead them to other cartels in order to pass drugs into the U.S. without any problems. The U.S. Government has arrangements with cartels in order to have its cartel competition eliminated and leave them as the only Cartel that can benefit from all of the business and become the richest ones in this Drug industry. For example, “An investigation by El Universal found that between the years 2000 and 2012, the U.S. government had an arrangement with Mexico 's Sinaloa drug cartel that allowed the organization to smuggle billions of dollars of drugs while Sinaloa provided information on rival cartels. This Cartel , led by Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, supplies 80% of the drugs entering the Chicago area and has a presence in cities across the U.S.” (Kelley 2013).
