I am Sami Kandil, a 10th grader attending the dual enrollment program between Pinnacle Academy and NOVA. With this note, I intend to prove my worthiness to this program and my purpose in attending it. First of all, I would like to draw attention to my potential and my capabilities. I, being barely over 5 months into 14, am one of the youngest students participating in this program including the 9th graders. However, I would strongly advise you not to be deceived by my age, and underestimate my maturity both socially and intellectually. As I said, I am one of the youngest in this program including the 9th graders because I skipped my final year in middle school due to my high potential in succeeding. I had given up my childhood when I was only …show more content…
If there is one issue that I could guarantee you about me, it is that the term “mature” is far too weak to describe my social maturity. I would doubt my intellectual maturity, but not my social maturity. When I accepted taking a high school course at 11 years of age, I threw away my childhood and embraced adulthood. Then, again, when I was 12, I accepted another high school course, taking another step to developing my social maturity. On the summer of my 7th grade year, I accepted 3 courses which meant I was to be working at least 6 hours everyday during summer in order to maintain an A in the classes. This was my final step out of childhood, and into adulthood. There was something I learned while I was taking those three classes. I learned that I have to know how to stand up on my own feet by myself and myself only. I learned that I need to prioritize in life with success coming first. I learned that life won’t wait for me if I took a break, instead it would run as fast as it can away from me. This matured me, grew me older, and demanded me to know what’s more important. By the time I was 13 years old, in 9th grade, taking 17 classes, I knew what was more important. I knew how to prioritize. I had matured into an adult early because I …show more content…
My goal is to be accepted to MIT for my undergraduates, and then, Harvard University for my postgraduates. I, truly, believe I can accomplish this with the opportunities NOVA offers me. The idiom “don’t judge a book by its cover” is quite applicable to my situation. There is a concept known as mental age in psychology, and it refers to the intellectual and emotional performance of a specific child compared to the average physical performance of the physical age of the child. The existence of this concept shows that there are physically young people who are mentally mature. I believe I am an example of such a person, and I, wholeheartedly, believe that I am worth NOVA and that I could certainly gain and display success even at such an
Loyalty programs include frequent flier miles or points systems associated with credit card offers that can be used only with the original company, creating a perceived loss or cost when switching to a competitor. Most programs are able to get consumers to spend more money just to get to free or bonus item.
6. What was “Project Wagonwheel”? Who were the major participants in the controversy? What sides of the issue did each represent? What was the final result?
Even after making the transition to Deer River High School in sixth grade, I continued to glide through school. My pattern of being underchallenged continued until I discovered College in the Schools classes this past fall. Finally, I was challenged (perhaps at times even more so than I imagined,) and I’ve grown exponentially in the past academic year. However, I feel as if that exponential growth is reaching its capacity in this specific environment. Becoming a part of the College of St. Scholastica’s academic environment would allow me to begin a new pattern of exponential growth both as a student and as a person.

This scholarship will help me get a head start in college. It will also help me to reach my career goals in the medical field.
Before we continue, we should discuss what maturity is. According to Wikipedia, the definition of maturity is “ a psychological term used to indicate that a person responds to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate and adaptive manner.” This response is generally learned rather than instinctual, and is not determined by one's age. Maturity also encompasses awareness of the correct time and place to behave, knowing when to act with appropriate emotion for the situation. Maturity incorporates personal accountability, meaning you take ownership of situations you are involved in. By following one’s conscience, you are taking personal accountability.
Maturity is depending on what happened in your life and stuff that made you stronger.Martin
Ask my teachers, friends, coaches, and family, they’ll all tell you that I’m mature. The way I hold myself responsible for my life, my studies, and my activities through the good and bad is a unique quality about me that they admire, but also know little to nothing about.
I’m Kasayah Alexis, and I’m currently a junior-senior in highschool under the Parallel Enrollment program. I say junior-senior because I wish to graduate a year before my designated class. This means I plan graduate as class of 2018 instead of 2019. I learned a lot in the process of trying to graduate a year early. The most valuable thing I learned was that success does not come easy. There were various hiccups throughout my journey to get here, and I remember that feeling of doubt. I recall questioning if I should even proceed with this process because of the hiccups. This feeling came when I first took my placement test. I was so confident. I’m thinking to myself “Ok Kasayah you got this! You did the packet, and you did the online
Maturity is a trait that many people strive to get. Being mature can earn respect, and in my case, being mature means that I use my time wisely in school. The Flex Mod is built for kids to go to class and then have independent time to do homework and similar things. Some kids take it for granted every day and just sit in the hallways, instead of doing their work. I cannot lie sometimes; I slip up just like everyone else and use my time independent poorly. Mature means fully developed, physically or full grown, but if you go into further detail being mature is making
Maturity is something we get when we grow older. But how do we know we are becoming mature? I am writing about three quotes about maturity from Benjamin Franklin, Tracey Million, and Rob Lowe.
What a long year with Mr.Dresner, this year consisted of a bunch of bumpy roads. The things I liked most about the class was the freedom he gave us. The more we got into the school year Mr.Drenser became more open-hearted and less aggressive towards his favorite class. Taking this course greatly benefited me; it improved my writing skills, and strengthened my vocabulary. Look at it this gaining college credit while you're in high school can guarantee that you'll be more successful than the other incoming freshman’s. At Miami Norland Sr. High you would usually see your teacher at least 2 or 3 days out of a week. Each class period would be about 90 minutes. During the time we would be on the computer or cellular devices doing some research on the next upcoming project. In this dual enrollment class you are responsible for turning in your work. I also liked how we were able to submit our work online. The class was 50% virtual. This gives me more extra time to do other things such as my after school activities. I would recommend this class to anyone. The connection with our teacher really took us a long way, not only in the classroom, but outside in
What is maturity? For starters, maturity is acting like an adult. Kids these day are learning too early about mature things. In an article titled The Marks of Maturity by Tim Elmore, a section reads "this generation of kids is advanced intellectually, but behind emotionally. They are missing many of the marks of maturity they should possess. From an intellectual perspective, students today have been exposed to so much more than I was growing up-and far sooner, too. They've consumed information on everything from cyberspace to sexual techniques before they graduate from middle school. Everything is coming at them sooner." In this same article, sociology professor Tony Campolo states, "I am convinced we don't live in a generation of bad kids. We live in a generation of kids who know too much too soon." As Tim stated, the problem today is that teenagers are learning
The meaning of the maturity can be different to other people, I'm going to analyze the characteristics, address if it is important, and if it's reasonable to expect young adults to have maturity.
Leadership and organizational behavior are essential in any organization. In order to achieve goals and high performance, the two must work hand in hand. There are many types of leadership theories following different characteristics in order to create an effective organization. First, the most important item to address is the function of leadership. The next aspect is how organizational behavior relates to leadership. Last, is determining which theory has the characteristics to be particularly effective in both.
