Ducks Unlimited is a North American non-profit organization that conserves wetlands and associated habitats for waterfowl, other wildlife and people. Ducks Unlimited was formed during the Great Depression when a group of conservation-minded waterfowlers saw a decrease in waterfowl populations. As an employee of Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), I have a strong understanding of the company, and I will be analyzing the site of DUC’s sister organization – Ducks Unlimited Inc. (DUI).

DUI’s primary audience is its supporters, which includes members and volunteers who already donate. In the U.S., these supporters are mainly waterfowl hunters and people who have an invested interest in wetlands, waterfowl and other wildlife.

The navigation structure of the site is broken into blocks and is very clear. Being broken up this way makes it easy to see the different sections instead of everything blending together without clear dividers. The only criticism would be that there seems to be a great deal of links, which could cause viewers to feel overwhelmed by the options. The navigation bar banner and the side navigation bar are strongly apparent on each page making it easy to go back and forth between pages. The back-to-home button sits under the Ducks Unlimited logo in the top left-hand corner of the page, but it does not stand out. It should be more prominent on the page or highlighted better so the user can see how to get back to the home page from any page within the site.
The site does include the basic document elements of who, what, when and where and these elements are very helpful. Having current news releases and content that is dated helps the site remain relevant and the user gets the sense that the website is updated regularly and that the content is fairly timely. The “Contact Us” link is also apparent more than once throughout the home page and subsequent pages, making DUI accessible to the user.

Enterprise web identity can be used to analyze the DUI site. The design and content of the site does not lead the users to believe that the organization is anything but what they really are. The entire site also uses consistent
The design of the website is very unique and elegant. For a new user, it’s a little overwhelming at first but after 10 minutes of use it becomes second nature.
A DUI conviction is a permanent part of ones driving record. Even though alcohol related accidents are on the decline, statistics show that a drunk driver kills someone every forty-five minutes. More so, fifty to seventy percent of drunk drivers whose licenses are suspended continue to drive. In 2000, alcohol related crashes cost the public $114.3 billion dollars! Drunk driving carries with it serious penalties from the court system and car insurance companies. One moment of fun can turn into a lifetime of heartache and tragedy. Therefore, it is not worth the risk. Possible prevention measures and solutions are not only for the law enforcement, but for the public as well. Drunk drivers face a hardcore court system, which is intolerant of DUI. Stricter penalties such as automatic licenses revocation, mandatory jail sentencing, vehicle impounding, and licenses plate confiscating are just a few ways the judicial system is handling the DUI problem. Programs such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Students Against Drunk Driving have led the way to bringing awareness to society. People need to be responsible and supervise their consumption to ensure that they do not drink too much. They have a moral and a legal responsibility to make sure of this. It is always best to have a designated driver. The most effective way people can prevent driving drunk is to make a personal decision not to drink
Oakland fell into the Alternative Education Law program. Students worked at their own pace and speed to complete school. Oakland High School generally graduated between 15-20 students a year. Several smaller programs existed within the school, such as Region 5, or ALC (Alternative Learning Center) program or Lincoln Tree Farm. Region 5 were for student who were in transition from just being released from either Echo Glenn or Green hill youth jail facilities. They worked with a JRA representatives and would complete school work and prepare to reenter the comprehensive high school setting. They would have no contact with the remainder of the building and programs. This program ended during the 2007-2008 school year.
Tigers are a fascinating, and endangered, animal. They develop fast, and go off on their own when they’re mature. Tigers live in various climates, and eat various things as well. They are very strong, and have amazing energy. Not only are they magnificent to watch, but there are many interesting, and not well known, facts about them.
The Iowa HUSH or Help Us Stop Hunger program is used to help stop hunger in the state of Iowa. Hunters bring a deer that they don’t want to a locker plant anywhere in Iowa, and the locker plant will cut up the meat to be distributed to many food banks around Iowa. Every time someone purchases a hunting license, one dollar is taken from the amount and is given to the HUSH program. There are many reasons why the HUSH program is great for Iowa, and it has already started to spread to different states like Pennsylvania and Texas.
What are your thoughts about the layout and colors of the site? What impression do they give?
The National Wild Turkey Federation is an organization that was founded in the early 1970’s, basing a foundation for the preservation of turkey hunting. Their success is found in the many members, those who support the organization in their respective chapters and support the NWTF as a whole. Since the beginning where the founders’ laid the foundation for the years to come, North America has branched their starting number of one million turkeys to seven million. These factors are abided by the investment and dedication to those who support the organization, as well as their loved ones and family members.
Bulldogs have suffered the most airline deaths of any breed due to their respiratory issues. They often suffer from hip dislocation and other medical concerns. Over 80 percent of bulldogs are delivered by Cae Section section. Having been bred with such large heads precludes most bulldog pups from being delivered naturally.
There is a possible connection between the decline in the number of arrests for DUI and the emergence of shared-ride services like Uber. Uber is definitely supporting public safety by connecting sober drivers with intoxicated people. In the U.S, the average age of DUIs is between 21 to 35 years. Young adults (16-34) are taking the most rides with Uber. The company has already published an article titled “Rates of arrests for drunk driving decline in cities where Uber is present”. The article explains that every drunk driver who is replaced by a safe, professional and sober driver on the Uber platform represents a significant contribution to the well-being of a city. The article also claims a 10% decrease in the number of arrests for drunk
The wolf was once a much slandered animal. In the western world, people feared and hated wolves, and this legacy is reflected in stories such as Little Red Riding Hood and The Boy Who Cried Wolf. In these popular children's tales the wolf is made out to be a prowler and a killer of livestock and people. There is some basis for The Boy Who Cried Wolf, for wolves have killed cattle and sheep. But what of Little Red Riding Hood? There are no records of wolves killing humans in Canada or the United States. Yet, when wolves were spotted near rural communities, fear used to grip the populace, but over time this has become less prevalent.
Duck hunting is a dying sport that many people will never get to experience for the ones who have experienced it know that it becomes an addiction and that it is so much more than just pulling the trigger. Even though shooting the ducks make up for a good majority of the fun, there are many behind the scenes acts that go on to make the whole Green Wing Duck Club experience one of a kind. The Club’s rich history, five star club house, scenic location, and conservation efforts all contribute to the full waterfowl experience that fewer and fewer people are able to experience every year.
"Duck Dynasty" Season 11 will be the final bow of the favorite American reality television series on A&E. The Robertson family announced the sad news in a special short video message after the show's Wednesday episode.
As we all know that there are many people dying or getting severely injured every day because either they are driving under the influence (DUI) or they are victims of those people who drink and drive. The United States is the country which has the most accidents caused by DUI. According to the article “Alcohol Involvement in Fatal Crashes”, the U.S has the most impaired driving accidents. Statistics in the article “Impaired Driving” show that around 10,076 people were killed in ‘alcohol – impaired’ driving in 2013 in the United States. Research shows that people aged 16 to 49 are the ones who are most likely break the laws of DUI, and teenagers are more likely to get into fatal accidents. Therefore, the government, and other organizations have invented programs to help these people and reduce rates of drinking and driving in the United States. For example, Reinforcing Alcohol Prevention (RAP), Criminal Justice Policies, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) etc. However, not all programs work the same way for everyone. To find out how to reduce drinking and driving rates in the United States using programs, we have to look at what kind of people are breaking DUI laws, what are the causes, and then we can find out which program will work better for a specific group.
The area of my observation for this assignment is located off the Lakeshore running path. It is near the edge of Lake Mendota and it is close to Dejope Dining Hall. I observed this area on November 29th at around 3:05 p.m. The wildlife environment that I observed consisted of an assortment of dead plants and leaves on the ground. Near the edge of the water stands a slanted tree that is almost touching the water. The path towards the water’s edge is now accessible to walk towards due to the lack of shrubs now present. In close proximity to where I stood, there is a small patch of land and a prutting log in the lake where ducks and seagulls gathered to rest on. A few feet away from the edge of the land where a female and a male duck swam towards the log.
Audubon is one of the United States’ oldest nonprofit organizations and their mission is to “protect birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow, throughout the Americas using science, advocacy, education, and on-the-ground conservation” (About Us). Founded in 1905, The Audubon Society was formed in response to the massive slaughters of waterbirds, like egrets and herons. Born with a daunting mission, the National Audubon Society has never stopped defending birds by using groundbreaking science and education. The Audubon’s website is located at www.audubon.org and this website’s intended audience is people
