Duffer & Phelps Case Study

Upon receiving an email from my Presidents Emerging Scholars advisor, Angela Murray regarding the incredible opportunity of interning at Morgan Stanley that Mr. Kevin Ringdahl shared with her, I was elated. I have known Morgan Stanley to be an outstanding leader in the financial services industry, and to see that diversity and inclusion is at the heart of the business makes me proud to be a potential candidate for the Morgan Stanley Richard B. Fisher Scholarship Program.

The purpose of this memo is to present my interest in the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA) company. I am interested in the internship position as a Wealth Management Advisor for their Miami, Florida location. The goal of the company is to serve any financial needs of those in non-profit organizations and is required by its charters to operate on a non-profit basis. TIAA is committed to helping make lifetime financial well-being possible for those in need.

We would like to give college students the opportunity to work and get an internship as they study and apply for our openings in nearby schools. All applications must be reviewed by Human Resources and managers to be considered for the position.

I would like to apply for a 2016 summer internship in the accounting department at the Tennessee Valley Authority Corporate Headquarters in Knoxville. After doing research online and with my career counselor, Robin Lay, at Tusculum College I have decided that the Tennessee Valley Authority would be a stupendous place to begin gaining real world experience and knowledge in the accounting field.

The primary research in our EAW for Duffer’s Delight: Golf Course, Residential and Commercial Development was based solely off the EAW guidelines. We feel as though our EAW would have included increasingly thorough information had we had an opportunity to review similar developments. For example, if we could have viewed a previous EAW proposing a 9 hole golf course; we could have identified sensitive environmental impacts that we would may have otherwise ignored. It is our recommendation to create a formal database for previous completed EAWs. The database would show EAWs listed by city and type of development. For example, if the proposed project included a wind turbine, this database would enable RGUs to search for wind turbines and

After I graduate from Community College of Philadelphia, I plan to attend a four-year university. I want to receive my bachelor’s degree in accounting. I have a few schools to choose from. The school I am going to transfer to is Temple University. I am choosing Temple because it is close to home, it has a good accounting program, and to continue a legacy.

I am a senior Accounting major student. I will receive Bachelor of Science- Business degree in May 2014. I am now applying for the graduate degree in Accounting at Clemson University.

I am currently studying for an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration at Northern Virginia Community College. I plan to transfer to George Mason University in order to earn a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting. I aspire to become either a Forensic Accountant or a Certified Public Accountant. It is with sincere interest that I am writing to apply for the summer internship position as Human Resources with TCHC as advertised through an email from receiving the TCHC Diversity Scholarship.
